Combat Systems Simulation

Hi there,

My name is Paul. By day, I work as a software developer in the aerospace sector, focusing on radar and optical sensor systems.

After the kids are asleep, I spend my evenings working on a combat system simulation project. The simulation models realistic sensor interactions — such as radar-guided missile engagements and infrared tracking — because information and situational awareness are often the decisive factors in modern combat scenarios.

The project also incorporates elements of game theory: every system (e.g. Jets, SAM sites) operates independently and makes decisions based only on incomplete information gathered from its own sensors and nearby allied units.

In many ways, this project is a counterweight to the Hollywood-style portrayals of combat that often sacrifice realism for spectacle. My goal is to explore how these systems actually behave under uncertainty and limited information.
