Last week, I celebrated my convocation at Lagos State University, marking the culmination of a challenging journey. Balancing work and school as a student was not easy, and I had numerous bills to manage. However, with God's help, I overcame obstacles and surpassed limitations in my family. I had made a commitment to become the first graduate in my family, and God fulfilled that promise. I give Him all the credit and glory for my achievements. Though I faced countless challenges along the way, I am grateful for His faithfulness.

My educational journey began at St. Brendan's R.C.M Primary School in Akure, where I completed my primary education. Music has always been a passion of mine since childhood. Growing up in a musical environment and having a father who was a musician and a musical instrument technician nurtured my love for music. I started playing the trumpet in primary 6 and used to craft small wooden percussion instruments (Samba) that I sold to my school friends. This continued until I gained admission to Akure High School for my secondary education. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to write my O-level exams (WAEC) there, as I had been self-sponsoring my education since JSS 3. I worked as a trumpeter for the Boys' Brigade for many years until I was able to raise enough money to enroll for the WAEC exams. Despite facing numerous failures, I persevered until I eventually succeeded.

Inspired by friends who were already studying in higher institutions, I decided to pursue further education. After writing multiple JAMB exams (UME and PCE), I gained admission to Osun State College of Education, Ilesa in 2009 to study Music. Graduating in 2012, I returned to my hometown, Akure. As a fresh graduate in music performance and education, I aspired to record a song in a studio. However, upon inquiring about the cost, I realized it was beyond my means. It was at that moment that a highly respected man of God, Mr Olubodun Sunday, to whom I am grateful, advised me to learn music production.

Despite my work commitments, I pursued music production part-time. Though I couldn't afford the price of producing a single track in 2013, I released my debut album titled "ALL PRAISE" in 2015 and it was recorded in my studio. I give all the glory to God.

In early 2016, I relocated to Lagos, embarking on a challenging new phase. I give glory to God for guiding me, and I am so happy for making the right decision. In 2018, I was admitted to Lagos State University to further my education. Balancing full-time studies, teaching at multiple schools, performing gigs, and attending lectures was no easy task. Nevertheless, I successfully graduated with my set, the 2021/2022 set, but our convocation ceremony was held together with the 2022/2023 set on June 21, 2023. It is by God's grace alone that I achieved this, and I offer Him all the glory.

I take pride in being a CERTIFIED MUSICOLOGIST πŸ’―πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸ•Ί
