When did perfectly normal opinions start being called EXTREME?
Barman, Boris and Harry (to a very limited extent) explore how political language shifts over time — from “follow the science” to immigration, climate change, and social issues. At what point does disagreement become extremism?
Please leave me a link and a comment on the video if youre able.
I thought of another necessary update about my channel pivot. I need to create a topic cluster of videos for the next few uploads. This will help YouTube find likely viewers. So you'll be seeing only bar scenes for a while, all related to politics, particular media narrative etc. This is important for my channel growth -- chopping and changing will scramble the signals.
Once established I will broaden the themes and topics and subject matter. But to begin with, a tighter "corridor" is needed. (It's all a bit gobbledegook to me to but I need listen to tech expertise -- my way hasn't worked).
Rest assured, a return to old characters (Maths professor, translator, Trump, Nigel Farage, King Charles and even Meghan -- when required -- then new characters and situations) will follow.
I have a green screen so possibilities are endless - but at the moment, the bar setup is easier to create a quick publishing cadence. It also has the episodic feel that gives continuity, which helps the algorithm when trying to establish the correct viewers and encourages those to binge-watch the old stuff if they so wish.
Please feel free to comment or criticise the content in the comments section. I am convinced I have the most intelligent subscribers on YouTube and I value all you insights and opinions. Discussion etc happening on the board also encourage YouTube to pump the video out to a broader audience.
I've taken enough of you time - Many thanks to you all!
Please like, share and Subscribe. Consider hitting notification Bell if you're not having the new pivot videos being recommended.
Leaving a comment (more detailed the better) really helps engagement, apparently, and encourages YouTube to push the reach further! The things I'm discovering! As you can see, views very low at the moment, but it was expected so I won't lose hope.
As spring lifts our spirits, a wonderful time of change a rebirth is upon us.
The Meghan & Harry parodies aren’t disappearing. Not at all. When they do something genuinely noteworthy (and you know they will…), they’ll absolutely appear again — and as part of the wider ensemble.
But I need to broaden the channel.
For a while now I’ve felt my creativity narrowing by revolving around just two figures. It was brilliant when the stories were flowing — we had some extraordinary runs together — but the truth is the subject matter has become too dependent on what they choose to do.
If I don’t branch out, the channel stagnates.
You may have noticed the viewing figures trending down and settling into a bit of a holding pattern. That isn’t dramatic doom — it’s simply what happens when a channel becomes boxed into a single reactive niche.
So I’m pivoting deliberately.
I've just discovered what a pivot is, so if you're not sure, don't worry. I need to train the algorithm to find me audience that is interested in parodies generally, not just royal related. Apparently, I need 8-12 views to create a new "cluster" - every time I returned to compilations of the H&M, it directed me right back to where I was - royal commentary limited.
You’ll see more varied parody subjects, more bar-room discussions, more ensemble interplay, and broader cultural and political themes — still humorous first, thoughtful second. The tone remains the same. The world just gets bigger.
The alternative, frankly, would have been to wind things down over time. And I don’t want that.
I enjoy this too much. And many of you clearly do too.
If you’d like to help during this transition, here’s what genuinely makes a difference:
• Watch the videos through if you can — especially the first few minutes. • If you enjoy it, give it a like — that small click really does help distribution. • A comment (even a short one) tells YouTube that people are engaged; a longer, more detailed one is even more beneficial. • If something particularly resonates, sharing it makes a bigger difference than most realise. • And if you’re feeling especially generous, a “Hype” gives it an extra nudge.
You’ve always been an engaged and thoughtful audience — far more so than most channels.
This next phase is about growth without losing the charm and that hopefully brought you here in the first place.
M&H will still appear when it makes sense.
But the bar is open to a wider cast of topics now, a maybe even characters.
After my a planned break of a few weeks, I came down with another nasty bout of tonsillitis. I suppose I should get those blighters ripped out, I just don't like the sound of any procedure ending in "ectomy"
I shall be back soon with some more videos for my loyal viewers, subscribers and most importantly, Channel Members and Patreons.
I've written new episodes that were supposed to be recorded and one released today - I had a technical isse with google workspace (or something) however, which is well outside of my comfort zone and prevented me from completing the recording today. Apologies.
I released a compilation of the second half of Parody 20 (can you believe how many parodies we've been through) instead.
Should all be done with new stuff tomorrow - should be fun.
