"Only magick-users can see the multi-dimensional Starfire Express train. How, then, am I aboard it?"

When June Taylor boards the wrong train on summer holiday, she finds herself the only human in a world full of monsters, fairytale creatures, and deities.
A world where humans who've somehow discovered the truth of magick's existence are never seen again.

Mistaken for a fae by Hunter, the chivalrous wolf chief of the Not-So-Secret police, June is welcomed with open arms into the most respected wolf pack in the universe.
But ruses have a cost, and secrets have a way of creeping out when we least expect them.

If June ever wishes to return home, she must:

-Navigate new worlds she's never dreamed of.
-Pretend to perfection to be a part of the fae community rumored more and more to be plotting an uprising against the Dragon Overlord.
-Not be part of any such rebellion, herself.
-And keep her heart inside her chest and out of Hunter's hands.

Everyone has to come back out of the rabbit hole sometime, right?
...
Right?

I am obsessed with both writing AND reading books with well-written dreams, memories, and flashbacks. As an epic fantasy lover, there's just something so immersive about skipping a long, plodding info-dump of backstory and instead learning about characters in small breadcrumb trails.

Dreams and memories breathe life into the fabric of characters in ways a waking moment never could, but only if done very purposefully.

‪@AutoCritEditing‬ has invited me to bring you the techniques that earned my debut Epic Fantasy novel 'The Vow That Twisted Fate' its acclaim from industry experts like Readers Favorite , IndieReader , and the Next Generation Indie Book Awards!

This 2-hour Stop Hiding in Backstory workshop is a labor of love and vision, experience refined over years from an avid reader who crafts stories I've always wanted to read.

I'd be honored to see you there!

Live Session Date/Time:
Friday, April 3rd 2026
7:00-9:00pm Eastern US Time

The session will be recorded and a replay will be provided to all registered participants.

Hm... and here I was wondering what it'd be like to be a fly on the wall in my main characters' worlds. I meant what I said in the last post, Elisa. Sorry not sorry... 😂

One of my most important projects of the year, Starfire Express, is drawing SO CLOSE to its conclusion. To celebrate the closure of drafting not just book one, but the entire series, in 2026, it seems only right to share the prequel, 'The Godmother' to those willing to come along with me on this journey through my newsletter (here: katherinedgraham.com/ )

--The Godmother: A Starfire Express Prequel--

Flames rise on the horizon. The Godmother rises to meet them.

Eliza Farrington the Third is the top Fairy Warrior in the universe, undefeated in both magic and physical strength. She is also The Godmother -- the protector and trainer of the Fairy Crown Princess.

For twenty years Eliza has prepared her charge to bring change to the rule of terror the tyrannical Fairy King and Queen have inflicted upon the worlds. The Princess's kindness and mercy are already renowned, and her coronation is only a month away.

But the Dragon Emperor's legions landing on their doorstep threatens everything.

When the Dragon Emperor presents the sole remaining royal Dragon Egg to the Fair Folk with a dangerous proposal, can Eliza change the fate of her beloved Princess?

Or will the hate of multiple generations snuff out their only flame of hope?

Anybody who's read my books or my book reviews knows that I LOVE a good villain. And no, I'm not just talking about a villain who is evil for evil's sake. This love has paved the way for Heart of Darkness: the villain POV workshop I'm teaching for AutoCrit in March 2026.

I want to read (and write!) about villains who are so real, whose plights are so viscerally relatable and raw, that we (yes, even me as the author) wonder if we're cheering for the right side.

Because a heartbreaking villain is one that makes readers care.

They're villains that are memorably 'human'.

They're the reason stories haunt us long after they end, in many cases: their message, their sacrifice for their cause, and the warning that we could potentially become them if we're not careful.

So when AutoCrit gave me the opportunity to teach a 2-hour workshop devoted to crafting a well-written villain POV, I was beyond excited and honored.

If you're a writer who also loves villains and is contemplating villain POVs for your books, I would LOVE to see you there!

Live Session Date/Time:

Tuesday, March 10th 2026

12:00-2:00pm Eastern US Time

The session will be recorded and a replay will be provided to anyone who registers here: autocrit.samcart.com/products/villain-pov-workshop…

Have you been wanting to go to a fantasy ball? How about visit Middle Earth?

I have NEWS!

In February 2026, Nashville Fantasy Ball is hosting the amazing Nox Vampyre (a vampire-themed fantasy ball), and they still have openings to attend as of when I'm posting this.

Not only that, Ancient Lore Village , a Middle-Earth worthy fantasy locale, is only a 3-hour drive away (or short jump from Nashville airport to Knoxville and then a short drive), and you can stay in fantasy-inspired lodgings.

Sound like fun? I'd be honored to help you experience both: www.foratravel.com/advisor/katherine-graham

Exciting opportunities to help my readers and fellow writers experience fantasy book-worthy adventures in real life is one of the main reasons I've added being a Travel Advisor to my career.

Well friends, it's official... I'm a certified Travel Advisor now! My specialty lies with planning trips to Japan, fantasy-esque places in real life, and Disney (both the parks and cruises), and the best part is I DON'T charge for my help; you're getting the same great advice for free that I've always given, just with more hands-on help and organization than I could offer before.

Books aren't going anywhere, but I'm beyond ecstatic to finally be able to officially help plan real-life magical adventures for my readers, friends, peers in the writing community, and other travel enthusiasts.

Please reach out to me if you've had your eye on Japan, an other-worldly fantasy-esque locale (or WANT to find a fantasy-esque locale; I have a lot in my hidden gems), or Disney trip. 🙂

Where would you want to go, if you wanted a real-life fantasy adventure?

Ever since I was young, a love of adventure has been a huge part of who I am.

The joy of learning about new cultures, seeing new places, and experiencing new things is no small part of what also turned me to writing fantasy.

In my family, I'm the trip initiator. The one who says, 'hey, wanna go to Japan for a week?' 'How about Disney World?' 'Thoughts on a jump to St. Louis, Chicago, or New York for a couple days?'

When I tutored Japanese, I had the blessing of taking three groups of hard-working students to see the land that's like my second home.

This year, when balancing where the little time and energy I have can go, the importance of making lasting memories with my loved ones while I can has become such an urgent part of my life.

Here's some sneak peeks at some of my real-life fantastical adventures, and an admission that passion can serve two purposes: written fantasy worlds, and real-life memory-making adventures combined.

If you like 10+ hour-long epic fantasy/sword & sorcery stand-alone audiobooks, I have some exciting news! Apparently the Zon has dropped the audiobook version of The Vow That Twisted Fate (narrated by the supremely talented voice actress and singer Talon David) to under five US bucks today: www.amazon.com/dp/B09KMGJJ8D/

We authors sometimes get just as surprised by these non-planned specials as our readers, so please feel free to check it out while it's still running; I honestly don't know how long it'll be like this.
