Interesting new study from Toyota Research Institute North America on Plug-In Hybrids 👀
A lot of people assume PHEV owners don’t actually plug them in… but the data says otherwise.
Toyota Plug-In Hybrid owners plugged in on 7 out of every 10 driving days, while Lexus owners charged even more often. The study analyzed over 6,000 Toyota and Lexus Plug-In Hybrids across the U.S. and Canada, including the Toyota RAV4 Prime and Lexus NX 450h+.
With newer Toyota Plug-In Hybrids now offering up to 54 miles of electric-only range, it’s clear more drivers are actually using the EV capability day-to-day while still having gas backup for road trips.
Pretty interesting data if you’ve been considering a Plug-In Hybrid lately.
