Many today are celebrating "Father’s Day," but have you stopped to consider the origins of what you are participating in? The Scriptures are clear: we are to be a set-apart people, distinct from the practices of the surrounding nations.

​In Leviticus 18v3, the commandment is absolute:
​"You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices."

​We are warned not to adopt the ways of the world, yet history shows us that "Father’s Day" is rooted in the very types of worldly traditions we are commanded to avoid.

🗣 The Influence of Rome: For centuries, Catholic Europe observed March 19th as "St. Joseph’s Day" to honor fatherhood. This is not a commandment of the Almighty יהוה; it is a tradition of men imported from foreign religious structures.

🗣 A Man-Made Creation: The modern American version of the holiday was established in 1910 by Sonora Smart Dodd. Despite the touching story of her father, this day was created by human initiative, endorsed by political leaders like Woodrow Wilson and Richard Nixon, and solidified by secular legislation not by the instruction of יהוה.

​⚠️Why Should We Be Concerned?⚠️
​We are instructed to uphold the Torah and follow the statutes of יהוה alone. When we adopt the holidays, festivals, and observances of the nations whether they originated in Babylon, Rome, or the halls of modern government we are choosing to follow the customs of the nations rather than the instructions of יהוה.

​Do not be deceived by sentiment. True honor for those who lead their households is found in keeping the Covenant, teaching the next generation to walk in the Truth, and rejecting the ways of Egypt and Canaan.

​Let us return to the Torah given to us. Let us strip away the traditions of men and adhere strictly to what has been written. Do your proper research before you🫵🏿 start hating and backbiting!

Sometimes the most powerful answer to your prayer is a massive subtraction in your life.

​I stopped asking for people to change and started asking for protection. The moment I did, the "friends" and "associates" who didn't belong in my life didn't just drift away they vanished.

​When you get serious about walking the path of Torah and seeking יהוה, you aren't meant to carry dead weight.

Psalms 1v1 is clear: "Happy is the man who has not followed the counsel of the wicked, nor taken the path of the wicked, nor joined the company of the insolent."

Also Proverbs 22v24-25 warned against being with the wrong company because it brings a snare: "Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; and with a wrathful man thou shalt not go; lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul."

And last but not least, Proverbs 1v15 says: "My son, do not set out with them; Keep your feet from thier path... And we definitely not on the same path!

​Don’t apologize for the silence. Don't go looking for the people who disappeared. They didn't leave your life by accident they left because your prayer was answered by יהוה.

​Stay focused. Keep your circle tight and your path aligned.
