MOTHS, with a side of reptiles and two pups! Recently two new additions have been added, sugar gliders. I'm also a Student studying Environmental Anthropology
Sorry for the double post today! I’m making up for being so absent this week. I’ve been really sick and running on almost no sleep, and I genuinely can’t function without it. I’m barely hanging on over here.
Today I’ll be working on a long form video showing all the different kinds of silkworms I keep, along with some really cool morphs I recently picked up! Please bear with my voice, it’s pretty rough right now.
We’ll be cleaning all 8 containers, and I’m going to show how I move them when they’re very young, how I house them, the temperature and humidity I keep them at, and what signs to look for when raising healthy worms and moths for breeding.
The video won’t be fancy like a lot of YouTubers, and I apologize for that now, but I will be sharing all the little secrets and things I’ve learned over the years to raise healthy silkworms into healthy moths.
I'm so happy the mulberry trees finally have leaves! If you do use fresh leaves I highly recommend soaking and rinsing them first. I use vinegar and water and let them soak until I remember I left them in the sink. You can use bleach too. I've also used them straight from the trees but one time I brought thrips home, and thankfully caught it right away. So now everything gets soaked, rinsed, dried and popped into the fridge until the silkworms are ready for more!
Alvin says “no more pictures, please”… but also knows he’s absolutely handsome and this is now a professional modeling career whether he agreed or not! #redeyetreefrogs#treefrogs
Right now they’re in that beautiful early stage; tiny, lime green, with that bold little black stripe before they move into their next larval stage. I seriously cannot get over how bright their greens are this time around.
A couple of them stayed behind in their old container because they laid down their silk padding to molt. This part is incredibly important, and disturbing them during the process can raise the chance of a failed molt, so they’re getting their privacy. I left a little leaf piece in there so they’ll have a snack waiting for them afterward if I’m not around.
I can’t wait to watch these little green beans grow bigger and bigger 🌿 #luna#moths#caterpillar
My red eye tree frog is built like a gummy bear and I love her for it! She sticks out like a sore thumb next to her siblings. Clearly we know who is clearing the food dish 🤣

My corgi, Dustin Bobs two favorite positions! But no touchy or he gets big mad 😂
I couldn't forget about Cooper, my Golden who is a giant baby, such a sweet, loyal and loving boy!
These two are complete opposites but somehow it works!
