How to alter, repair, and make your own clothes, so you can become your own seamstress, one garment at a time.

I'm Alyssa, a solo maker living on the coast of Maine. I design and sew clothing under my label, Tangle Syx, and I've spent years teaching people to work on their own clothes. On this channel, we'll cover mending and altering what you already own, customizing new and thrifted pieces, and eventually making simple wearable things from scratch. Along the way we'll talk about natural fibers, using your scraps, and sewing in a way that's more sustainable.

Yes, you're going to sew things wrong. Everyone does. Including me, and I've been doing this for years. A sewing machine comes with a seam ripper for a reason. Learning to sew means learning to be patient with yourself.
