The war of Northern aggression (aka Civil War) simply boils down to Lincoln and his slave nation preventing the south from achieving Independence and freedom. The South simply asked to "be let alone" yet Lincoln was "mad and blind" and his oppressive government insisted on invasion to force them to remain (largely because he was going to lose his revenue sources). It is rather amusing that so many Americans prefer to side with powerful governments that use destructive, looting, pillaging, military forces to invade neighboring territories. It's fascinating how they argue to support a government (like the north) invading a peaceful territory with destructive forces and scorched earth tactics. It's almost as if they insist a relationship must remain by force even if it is completely dysfunctional.

It's interesting how many defend warmongering Lincoln, his total scorched earth warfare on civilians, and his quest for empire. It's interesting how many believe borders cannot change or that somehow nations must be coerced by force to remain. Do these same people also believe the US couldn't claim independence from Britain, Ukraine couldn't claim independence from Russia, Canada couldn't claim independence from the UK, Ireland couldn't claim independence from the UK, Texas from Mexico, Taiwan from China, Norway from Denmark, etc, etc, etc? Why then do they believe the Southern states couldn't claim independence without the north attacking and starting a war that led to approx 700,000 casualties? -RJ
