Woke up this morning to something new: Youtube has completely removed my video about Hungary "for violating terms and policies". As usual, they don't give you the exact reason. I mean I think it was a pretty tame video by my standards. So what was it, drinking wine in the Valley of Beautiful Women? The Mongol monument? Talking to Roma? Who fucking knows.
I can't express to you just how infuriating it is when stuff like this happens. Is it time for an alternative platform? I dunno, maybe. In the meantime, I'll see if by some miracle I can get the video back up--if not, maybe I'll reupload it and just take the hit to the channel.

And one other thing! This is new for me so I don’t even know how to do it. I’m looking for an editor(s) for stuff like Instagram and (ugh) Tik Tok. Gonna be real with you, no cap, I hate shorts. I guess I've earned a bit of a break for awhile. Like, at least 3 months. Gonna slow the pace waaaaay down, maybe go to the gym, finally play Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. I might lock the passport in a safe to stop myself from leaving.
BUT DON'T DESPAIR! That's not the end of the videos. Lucky for you, before this whole mess in Russia happened, I actually did a huge trip through Central Asia and China. Basically timeline wise, in September I left Russia a first time, then traveled for a month by land before reentering Russia in October at a city called Blagoveshchensk. That was obviously a silly, stupid thing to do, and just a few days later I was arrested in Birobidzhan on my way toward Vladivostok. I hope you learn from my mistakes. I also hope the Russian police stop framing innocent people, but that one is a bit less likely.
So for the next few months, I'll be posting my little adventures through Asia, which weren't completely drama-free either. From Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 (greatest country in the world, all others are run by little girls) to the very ends of China, and my fateful reentry into Russia. It'll be like Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars, just without being terrible, hopefully.

Hello my friends. I apologize for disappearing for a month. Sadly, everything they warned me about Russia came true.
I was detained and only just now was forced to leave the country. I’m lucky to be alive, lucky to be free and lucky to still be here with you all. I’m furious about what happened, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I did nothing wrong, other than be an American in Russia.
I’m not sure how to talk about this in a video but I will. I had a few videos from Russia edited before this happened, in happier times. Let me post those first and then we’ll skip ahead to talk about what the hell just happened.
One more social media update: I will also be posting on X/Twitter from now on. I have very, very strong opinions to share on travel, languages, international relations and matakos.

And I know that any of you are exactly the kind of person I’d wanna hang out with: you’re down for adventures and to learn about the world, no matter where we go. Cheers to you 🍻🎄
In 2024, the journey will continue, but I’m planning my biggest project yet (maybe of my life), and the channel may change just a tiny bit. Don’t worry, I’ll still be me. I’m not about to start dropping Tik Toks of me living in a van. But this sabbatical has gone on way longer than I ever expected, and you always gotta keep things fresh, nahmean?

Merry Christmas to all you guys celebrating, and happy holidays to everyone else. I’m about to have a drink with my boy here.
I always reflect around this time of the year, and it never stops being mind-blowing to me that I’ve gotten to travel around the world and make videos.
