Some of you might have already seen the post on IG, I know that some of you are not there. So, I decided to post it here as well.
I officially received FM title last Thursday👀. Nice way to start the summer💪.
As for the streaming, I receive lots of messages from you. This marks almost more than a year since I stopped, these 12 months were super busy, I still have to figure out a lot in upcoming 1.5 months. I really want to come back but don’t have time right now. Everything is in my own hands, so I am doing everything possible to comeback as soon as possible.
I was recently participating in Canadian Closed Chess Championship where I could finally either get CM title (4.5/9) or FM title (6/9). As you will see on the picture, I managed to get 6 points losing only to Canadian Champion, meaning that I can now apply for FM title. I will try to do it in upcoming weeks and hope to see FM title reflected on my page in the beginning of May or in the worst case in June.
As a reminder, the long-form recaps for this event are being posted on Romkachess2.0.
I know that many of you are still waiting for my streams to comeback. Within a month time, I will be able to stream Thursday title event (only the latest one for now). I might be able to stream during the morning times as I was doing before, but it will also depend on my work. I wish I could stream now, but need to sort a lot of things. I really want to come back and play with you all.
The strongest open chess tournament (US Chess Masters 2025) is going to begin tomorrow. You can see the top seeds on the first picture, couple of 2700s. I am seeded 139th.
RECAPS ARE GOING TO BE PUBLISHED ON THE SECOND CHANNEL - Romkachess2.0
Sad news in the world of chess, the whole chess world is grieving today. We lost one of a kind genius. Whenever I played him online, it was always an impossible challenge - the speed, the level of play were just on a different level. I was often asked who is the toughest opponent I played online - my answer remained the same - Danya. I remember watching the replay of our games on his channel and he often said good things about my game and I was always happy to hear these comments as they motivated me a lot.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have an opportunity to meet him in person. I thought this was going to happen in upcoming US Chess Masters in Charlotte, just wanted to exchange few words with him.
After some time of thinking, I decided to stop posting long-format content on this channel. Some pre-recorded videos would still go out, but then it would stop. The shorts will still be posted here like always.
The reason for that is - my channel initially started as shorts channel in 2022 and since then most subscribers came from shorts content. It also feels like yt algorithm just doesn't push my long-format content. I know that most of my long-form videos suck, but I still think they could perform better.
I will start a brand-new channel for LONG-FORMAT ONLY!!! I hope that I will be able to manage it better.
Also, many of you have been asking me why I didn't go live recently - my Canadian work visa is expiring next year, I am now fully focused on how I can either get permanent residency or extend my visa. One of the requirements is to know French, which I now learn on daily basis by sacrificing my live streams. I will be occasionally streaming, but not as often as many would like to.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a great upcoming week!
Starting today and up until Sunday, I will be posting recaps of my OTB tournament that I played 2 weeks ago. There will be 6 recaps in total. I hope you will enjoy! Let me know any feedback you might have, so I can make future recaps and vlogs better.
