My YouTube channel turns 17 years old today AND I’m ~24k away from 1 million subscribers. Holy sh*t!

I could not in my wildest dreams have imagined what this channel would eventually grow into. I get to come online, try a bunch of cutting-edge tech, talk about AI news, nerd out and hang with cool people who are interested in the same things as I am, and this is my JOB? I’m beyond grateful.

So to celebrate, I have a super exciting announcement that I’ve been eager to share for a while now: my FutureTools.io website is transforming from a wide AI news & tools repository and into a hub of curated AI knowledge, industry insights, exclusive commentary, and handpicked tool reviews.

The big news & tools lists are still there, but we’re pivoting away from “here’s everything” to “here’s what matters.” Just the stuff you need to know to be the smartest person in the room on AI, in one place.

It’s the culmination of the ethos I’ve had about AI for a while now: it can help with some things, but it can’t replace taste. Yes, it helps me write summaries and even helped me build most of the new site, but everything you see there has been curated by me based on what I believe is noteworthy.

So, let me know in the comments what you think! And if you want more of my curated insights, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter on the new site.

I can’t wait to see what the next year (and the next 1mil!) has in store for me.

I’m going to do another AMA video next week. I know they don’t get the most views in the world but they’re so much fun. What questions do you have that I haven’t answered? It can be about AI, tools, automation, YouTube, content creation, personal life, whatever… I just really enjoy going down rabbit holes based on your questions!

What do you you?

I'm planning on making another "AMA" style video... Mostly because it was super fun to make the last one and I want to do like one a month.

What do you want me to talk about or answer? Can be AI related, creator related, equipment related, or literally anything else you're curious about from me.

Out of curiosity... For the news breakdowns where I share all the news in a single roundup video, would you prefer longer videos that go deeper on each topic with more demos and explanation? Or shorter videos that give you the high-level, quick, “what you need to know?”

Hey everyone. I'm trying to get a better understanding of who’s in this community —your roles, industries, and what you’re interested in. Hoping to use this opportunity to make better content for you all. If you have a minute, filling out this survey would be really helpful 👉🏻 tally.so/r/VLG1Yy

And appreciate all of your support as always!

This story just keeps getting crazier.
The terms that Anthropic has a problem with are:
1. The Pentagon wants to be able to use it to surveil US citizens.
2. The Pentagon wants to use it for fully autonomous weapons.

Those are the sticking points that the US wants Anthropic to back down on.

I did a full breakdown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSetf...

This has to be one of the most fun podcast interviews I've done in a long time! We breakdown exactly how to make a clone of yourself with AI to save time on repetitive communication with people. I also got to record with on of my best friends. If you haven't checked out The Next Wave Podcast in a while, this is a good one to jump back in!

I’ve taken a little break from posting over the past week or so, but hope everyone had a happy holidays and new year.

Instead, I’ve built 5 different apps to solve little bottlenecks in my business. I’m addicted to building.

I even built an iPhone app with Vibecode that I use daily and am considering selling in the App Store. What a time to be alive!

Did you build anything cool over the holidays? Would love to hear about it!
