I'm Karl and I make miniature terrain for games like Mordheim, EZD6 and D&D, and write scenarios and adventures for TTRPGS. I also interview smarter people than me to learn more about anything from crafting to history!
I have been making some windows for my build, but no stream tonight as I'm running a game at CRIT this evening. There are still tables with open seats through the week, so if you fancy a pick-up game or wonder what this Tabletop Roleplaying stuff is all about, have a look at tabletop.events/conventions/crit-2026 - it's all online and free!
I'm running the "Instructions Not included" tabletop crafting challenge over in my discord. The idea is: grab a kit, template, or such, ignore the instructions and build your own thing. We'll be showcasing the things we make on stream on the 26th of July. Want in? Join us on Discord at discord.gg/QVBNBNMGBE
In yesterday's stream we talked about gunswords, because of course we did. Here's one from the Palace Armoury in Valletta - click for the full picture, or check out the video with it and other exhibits at https://youtu.be/S0kWsHkdpww
"Defenestration" has such a lovely ring to it, doesn't it? Well, since the 23rd of May is the 408th anniversary of a particularly relevant one all digital products for EZD6: The Four Horsemen on DriveThruRPG: www.drivethrurpg.com/en/publisher/24829/karl-agius
Dungeon Jam 2026 is upon us! Starting this Monday, 25th May and all through the week, a horde of creators will be releasing a load of five room dungeons for your tabletop roleplaying games. Keep an eye on the playlist at www.youtube.com/playlist?list... for dungeony goodness!
These T-shaped hinge pins (which I just learnt are called pintles) caught my attention. In "
(Beltrami, 1885, p. 280)
"Regarding the pintles we will note that the middle ones are double, that is in the shape of a T, to make it impossible to remove the screens (gates?) from the pintles by means of a lever."
Way to much information for tabletop crafting purposes, but quite interesting. Figure some parts of that hinge would have to be installed on the gate after it was hung into place, as I can't imagine how it would be set up otherwise.
Here's where the doors are at! Now to sculpt some handles and detail. The double door with the diagonal strips warped a little, but it might be salvageable.
One of the things that slows me down starting new projects is the thought of having to make components like doors and windows; it's a fairly repetitive process that feels like a chore sometimes. At some point I'll try to make a nice set and a mould so I can cast them, but for now a small batch made in bulk should see me through my next couple of builds.

Got 2 minutes to help @BobWorldBuilder out? He's running a survey on what everyone's favourite role playing game system is. Super quick poll here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdEkeKPSKPWSKrFNt…
