As a composer of predominantly wordless music, I often wonder about how my music is received by the listener- I like to think of my music as underscore for people to live and tell their own stories.
I find instrumental composition, one of my contributions, to be a liberating process where I can work on the level of pure intent and ‘emotive-ness,’ without needing an explanation…
That said, as an avid bookstore loiterer, writer and journal writer, I find myself more led to explicitly share my thoughts these days, especially if I feel these thoughts and stories that I tell may have a positive impact on others.
Needless to say, this book @writeitalldown_ by @catrentzenbrink caught my eye today. Only a couple of pages in, it is resonating strongly and I feel its pages are imbued with kindness and encouragement for the writer and storyteller in all of us.
