Getting comfortable with YouTube platform can be the biggest stumbling block for a lot of people - so it's worth setting up a draft channel, making some practice videos - of yourself, a voice over or even of your pets. Upload your videos on private and view your channel. This will give you lots to work with but without commiting, giving you a gentle introduction into the Youtube space.
