Honestly out of all of the directors that I do appreciate and praised like Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Quentin Tarantino or even Sergio Leone
But I feel like my personal favorite director is admittedly “John carpenter”
Definitely because his movies are admittedly fascinating, interesting and captivating to get invested along for being entertaining and engaging and for also being the responsible for influencing future director’s careers with the likes of James Cameron with the terminator when he got the idea of a killer killing people due to being influenced by carpenter’s Halloween
Especially that his movies in general are pretty iconic and memorable with some of them being my all time favorite movies like Halloween, the thing, escape from New York, Christine, they live, village of the damned, assault on precinct 13, etc
(Which the thing is easily considered one of his best movies of his filmmography and by far my all time favorite movie of his)
Especially that they do incorporate some interesting themes that are still relevant to this very day like “Halloween” with the themes of survival, “the thing” with the themes of paranoia and mistrust, “Christine” with the themes of obsession, “escape from New York” with the themes of the consequences of government control and their decisions of their country’s downfall and finally for “they live” with the themes of the people letting themselves to be consumed and exploited by the powerful
And considering that he was also a composer to one of his movies like Halloween, escape from New York, Christine or they live, which it makes them memorable and eye candy because of their scores due to how catchy they are

Just recently rewatched one of the most infamous monster movies of all time and it’s the American South Korean King Kong knockoff titled “A*P*E”
And honestly when I first saw this movie, I personally hated it and considered it one of the worst movies of all time and hell even of the worst kaiju movies ever made but as time passes by and after giving this movie a genuine rewatch especially that I have seen some movies that I do consider a lot more worse than I expected (I’m looking at you space monster wagmagi and gladiator 2)
My opinion on this movie personally changed nowadays, because even if this movie is notoriously garbage and how it has a lot infamous moments that makes this film unintentionally hilarious but it’s still an entertaining movie that does have some moments of entertainment value that makes the film a bit of a “so bad it’s good” type of film because of how hilarious the special effects are especially some infamous moments that made me laugh my ass off like when the ape destroys the ship and one guy says “oh shit” in a bored manner and when the ape flips the bird after knocking out the chopper which is probably the most infamous and hilarious part of the movie due to how absurd and unexpected it feels and still to this very day, this scene makes my day
But dont get me wrong, it’s still a bad movie due to the fact that it does have moments that do drag one, the characters are notoriously forgettable and boring to watch and the story is pretty disorienting and absurd especially that it doesn’t have a main plot and most the time it kept on padding out the runtime with pointless filler that takes forever
Overall, it’s easily considered one of these types of films that should be less taken seriously and treat it as a “so bad it’s good” experience since even if the film in general is pretty forgettable and dull with a disorienting story, uninteresting characters and some boring filler but it does have some moments that make you entertained and laugh due to how absurd they feel especially for the special effects moment that are probably still remain infamous to this very day due to how unintentionally funny they were

Here is my ranking of the entire mad max franchise
5) Mad Max 3 beyond thunderdome (1985) “while not considered a bad or atrocious entry of the franchise, since it does have some aspects that I do like and the first and third act are the highlight of the entire movie but it does have some flaws especially for incorporating alot of anti climatic moments along for having an out of place and weird second act that does take a while to get going that almost felt like the movie feels it’s trying to become like children of the corn and it just makes this entry weird and out of place, once again, it’s not bad but it’s honestly the weakest entry of the franchise by far”
(7/10)
4) Mad Max (1979) “honestly despite being the original and the one that started this franchise but it’s not really perfect or considered a masterpiece since it does have some flaws especially for having some plotpoints that added nothing to the main narrative or just come out of nowhere and they can be tedious and boring at times and the characters in general are pretty forgettable and dull expect for max, dont get me wrong, it does have some good moments especially that it does have some highlights like the opening chase, the biker’s Assault on the couple and the climax when max goes on a rampage by killing toecutter’s men but overall despite the movie highlights, it’s admittedly an okay entry”
(8.5/10)
3) Mad Max fury road (2015) “Easily by far a genuine grandiose of an entry that returned the franchise back to it’s darker and nillistic routes just like the first two entries due to that the movie expanded it’s world building, the action sequences are well executed, the characters are likable and engaging, I do like the main villain and it does have some interesting themes of overthrowing the tyranny, though the only critique I have to say about the movie is the pacing since at times it can be sluggish at times especially during the final act where the characters just stand around and do nothing and I didint like Tom hardy’s performance as max since his portray of him feels very nillistic and cold and does lack Mel Gibson’s charismatic performance from the first three movies but overall, its easily by far a genuine perfect entry that did return the franchise back to it’s darker routes”
(9.5/10) or (10/10)
2) furiosa a mad max saga (2024) “Honestly I do find this prequel alot more better than fury road due to that it expanded the world building alot more along for incorporate some new places to explore and for developing furiosa’s character journey from a being controled by dementus to then later being sold to inmortal Joe and become the character that we all and love from fury road and the pacing is alot more better than fury road due to that it never slows down and the 2 hour runtime does gives us time to understand the character arc of furiosa and the world building in general, overall, its easily an enjoyable prequel for expanding it’s world building along furiosa’s character journey”
(10/10)
1) Mad Max 2 the road warrior (1981) “honestly, this is one of the few cases that a sequel is better than the original and this movie is one of them due to that it has an interesting story of max protecting a community along for their gasoline, the action sequences are very entertaining, the characters are very likable along that I do appreciate their dynamic between each other, the main villain is pretty iconic and I do like that the movie has some interesting themes of narcissism and caring about others since max went from being a narcissistic ahole to become a likable hero that saves lives and this movie definitely develops his character really well, overall, it’s easily by far my genuine personal favorite entry of this franchise and by far the best entry of the entire franchise”
(10/10)
(Sidenote: this is my personal favorite movie franchise due to its engaging concept of a dystopian world where people fight for survival for resources and despite that it has some entries that I don’t appreciate like the first and third entry, this is still a fun franchise to endure and how it gets even better when the sequels came in)

Just recently rewatched Roger Corman’s 1978 iconic B movie titled “Pirahna”
And considering that I had originally watched this movie like 3 years ago and i didint think to much of it when I saw it for the first time and I did kinda forgot about it especially that I was more focused on Corman’s other films like the Carnosaur trilogy, death race 2000 and chopping mall
But after finally giving this movie a rewatch, I soon started to realize that I do find this movie to be alot more better than I remembered especially that it does have some aspects that makes the film alot more interesting and memorable though the film does have some flaws but it’s still watchable to sit through
The biggest aspect that I do appreciate about the movie is that even if it’s a comedy, I do like how the film took itself very seriously with it’s premise especially the fact that it does features themes of mankind’s control on mother nature and how the US government was the main responsable for creating these murderious pirahnas and use them as weapons for cold war purposes and how their weapons backfired on them by causing alot of chaos on the camping site and the festival and killing alot of people
The other aspect that I do like about the movie is that even if it’s serious, I do like that the movie does feature some genuine well executed humour that did caught me off guard when I saw it and it admitedly made me laugh my ass off like literally like the infamous moment that is problaby the most iconic and hilarious part of the entire movie and it’s admittedly my favorite part of the entire movie like no joking and it’s the moment when Maggie “revealed herself” to the soldier in order to distract him and honestly when I saw this moment for the first time, I was completely caught off guard because of how hilarious it is especially that I wasn’t expecting that this movie would go into this direction by showing “grotius nudity” In front of my face, in a movie that is supposed to be taken seriously and man after seeing this scene again, it’s still by far the most hilarious part of the entire movie due to how abrupt and random it feels and it feels like a hilarious jumpscare that makes me dying of laughter
The pirahnas themselves do look pretty good especially that their sound effects are pretty terrifying and creepy, I used to think that their sound effects are cheesy and hilarious when I first saw the movie but after giving it a rewatch, I do find them quite terrifying to hear because it gives the sense that they are coming to get you and eat your flesh
Though I do admit that even if it does have some good aspects like themes, the darker tone and the humour but it does have some flaws especially that it’s a straight up B movie like the fact that it does have some genuine stupid moments like when the Dr Robert swimmed in the water to rescue the child from the Pirahnas despite that he knew that the pirahnas are in the ocean and the fact that the military themselves like the general and dr mengers despite the fact that they knew that the pirahnas are on the loose and the fact that they are the ones that created them but for some reason they stupidity pretended that the pirahnas dont even exist and kept on trying to get the characters arrested to prevent their plans from being exposed despite that the fact that they knew that their weaponized pirahnas are gonna cause havoc on the town and they didint even like think about their stupidity up until they get their comeuppance
Overall despite the flaws of the movie for its stupid moments and how dumb the antagonists are depicted, the movie in general is a pretty good film that does take it’s premise seriously by incorporating some themes of mankind’s control on Mother Nature and for incorporating some well executed humour that did caught me off guard and made me laugh my ass off not gonna lie, which is the infamous scene that I mentioned earlier which is problaby the best part of the entire movie (your welcome 😏😏😏😏)
