The One Eyed Podcast
Well folks, I finally tackled a project I've been avoiding for far too long...
Cleaning out the garage.
Now, I figured I'd find a few missing tools, some old paint cans, and probably three or four things I forgot I even owned. What I didn't expect was finding a few memories, a couple lessons, and a reminder that sometimes the hardest things to let go of aren't taking up space on a shelf.
Join me for a little humor, a little wisdom, and a garage cleanout that turned into something much bigger.
Have you ever found something while cleaning that brought back a flood of memories?
I'd love to hear your story in the comments.

“Well folks… this week on The One Eyed Podcast we tackled one of the most stubborn things God ever put in a backyard…
ROOTS. 😂
What started as a simple project somehow turned into:
✔ sweat
✔ questionable decision making
✔ Earl supervision
✔ and enough digging to qualify as an archaeological expedition.
But somewhere in all the chaos…
this episode became about something bigger:
the things buried underneath us…
and the patience it takes to finally pull them free.
Hope this one gives y’all a laugh and maybe reminds ya not every battle in life is won quickly. 🇺🇸”

“Well folks… this week on The One Eyed Podcast I made what may have been a questionable decision…
I taught Susie how to drive the zero turn mower. 🇺🇸😂
What started as a simple Memorial Day mowing lesson somehow turned into:
✔ Earl questioning my judgment
✔ Jerry trying to avoid yard work
✔ one terrified squirrel
✔ and me realizing my wife might actually mow straighter lines than I do.
But underneath all the laughs… this episode’s really about appreciating the ordinary little moments that become the memories we carry forever.
Hope y’all enjoy this one, my friends. 🇺🇸”

Introducing a New Chapter: Second Season 🌅
Friends,
Over the past months on The One Eyed Podcast, I’ve shared stories about tools, neighbors, marriage, porch wisdom, and the kind of life lessons you only learn after you’ve bumped into a few walls.
But something kept tugging at me.
Conversations with neighbors like Earl.
Messages from folks who’ve recently retired.
Quiet moments where a man or woman says,
“I didn’t think retirement would feel like this.”
That’s why I’ve started something new.
🎙️ Second Season
This show is for my senior brothers and sisters —
those who worked hard, showed up, raised families, served their communities, and are now standing in a chapter that feels unfamiliar.
Retirement isn’t the end of usefulness.
It isn’t the fading of purpose.
It isn’t being put on a shelf.
It’s a second season.
And second seasons can be just as meaningful, just as productive, just as joy-filled — sometimes even more so.
On Second Season, you’ll find:
• Honest conversations about the emotional side of retirement
• Encouragement when identity feels shaken
• Real talk about purpose, loneliness, marriage adjustments, and rediscovery
• Stories of men and women learning to slow down without giving up
• A place to feel heard — not dismissed
My heart in this is simple:
I want every retiree who stumbles across this channel to know:
You are not invisible.
You are not finished.
You are not behind.
You are stepping into a season that still has growth, impact, and meaning waiting for you.
If you’re newly retired…
If you’ve been retired for years and still feel unsettled…
If you’re wondering “Is this it?”
Pull up a chair.
We’re going to walk this together.
With respect.
With honesty.
With hope.
