Most people visit Italy… but never actually experience it 🇮🇹
Post: Today in Spoleto, Umbria, we walked through quiet streets with no crowds, no lines—just real Italy. Then we visited a 500-year-old olive oil farm, where tradition still matters and nothing is rushed.
This is why I do these trips. Not for the tourist spots—but for moments like this.
If you’ve ever thought about traveling to Italy… this is what it can feel like.
There’s a moment in Pompeii where everything goes quiet.
Not because it’s empty… but because it hits you. You’re walking the same streets people walked 2,000 years ago—then suddenly you’re imagining their lives, their routines… their last normal day.
That’s what travel is supposed to do.
And then, just hours later, we’re sitting around a table—pasta, pizza, wine—laughing like we’ve known each other for years.
That shift… that connection… that’s why I keep doing this.
If Italy has ever been on your list, this is the version most people miss.
What does it feel like to walk through a city older than history itself?
Today, I explored Matera, Italy—over 9,000 years old. We drank espresso inside a cave home, walked ancient stone streets, and ended the night around a table that felt like family.
This is the side of Italy most people never see.
If you’ve ever dreamed of traveling Italy the right way—this is it.
Today we stepped into a completely different world…
From the ancient cave dwellings of Matera (Sassi di Matera) to the storybook village of Alberobello, this was one of the most unique days of our Italy journey 🇮🇹
We explored: 🏛️ Homes carved directly into stone in Matera 🍷 Local food + regional specialties we bring back to Coco’s 🏡 The iconic Trulli houses of Alberobello (UNESCO World Heritage Site) 🍝 Authentic Italian street food you’ll never forget
This is where our inspiration comes from… the flavors, the culture, and the traditions we bring home to Nashville.
What is the best way to experience Sicily in one day? In this video, we explore Taormina, Catania, and Mount Etna—three of the most unforgettable places in Italy.
From the historic streets of Taormina to the vibrant markets of Catania and the powerful landscape of Mount Etna, this is what a perfectly curated Italy travel day looks like.
If you’re planning a trip to Italy or looking for guided tours, this video shows you how to experience Sicily the right way.
In my experience… it’s the moment when everything clicks.
That happened on day two of our Sicily tour.
What started as a group of travelers quickly became a group of friends—walking the streets of Palermo, sharing meals, and standing inside Monreale, surrounded by some of the most breathtaking mosaics in the world.
It’s a reminder that great travel isn’t just about where you go. It’s about how you experience it.
I wrote about that moment—and what makes it happen—in this week’s newsletter.

🥖🍷 This is where REAL Italian flavor begins…
Not in a recipe.
Not in a kitchen.
👉 In places like a vineyard in Basilicata
Fresh bread.
Prosciutto sliced thin.
Mozzarella that melts into everything.
This is the inspiration behind what we bring back to Coco’s Italian Market every day.
If you’ve ever wondered why our food tastes different… this is it.
