Group trips vs digital products vs ??? πΈ
While I wholeheartedly believe every travel creator should sell their own product, there is one important question to ask yourself:
"What are my lifestyle goals?" π€
For instance, hosting group trips can be incredible, but it is also a huge time-investment.
If your ultimate goal is time freedom, digital products may be a better route to go as sales can be automated.
Neither choice is wrong, but you need to consider your unique goals as a creator! βοΈ

Does your blogging business have SOPs? π€
I know it's not the sexiest topic, but building out your Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is important for building a stable blogging business.
To create these, document how your business actually runs behind the scenes.
βοΈ As you do your normal weekly tasks, write down every single step you take.
π» You can use a process-capturing Chrome extension (like Scribe) to automatically record your screen and turn your actions into a step-by-step guide and repeatable checklists.
β¨ House these in a home base, whether it's Asana, ClickUp, Google Drive, or something else.
Bonus:
Not only does documenting your processes help you streamline and scale, but it'll make handing tasks off to an assistant or automating them much easier! πͺ

Does anyone else use a *Content Bank* strategy?
In short, you choose 3-5 main topic pillars and fill each with your best evergreen tips (you can even pull them from your blog posts).
From here, these tips can be quickly pulled for your content creation, including newsletter topics!
You can also mix and match your tips. Maybe one post/newsletter focuses on a single tip, while another is something like "3 tips for X." It's a huge timesaver!

I'm obsessed with this evergreen newsletter strategy! π€©
I recently interviewed content strategist Laura Haley on my podcast, who shared her highly-engaging repurposing strategy.
It looks like this:
βοΈ Start by creating a *Content Bank* based around 3-5 main topic pillars. Fill each with your best evergreen tips and anecdotes - you can even pull these from your blog posts.
ποΈ Create a 52-week spreadsheet, and put these tips on a rotational schedule. This way, you have something to share every week of the year.
π Each newsletter also has a short personal update + link(s) to new content.
The best part?
You can reshare these emails the following year, refreshing them by sharing new personal updates and blog post links.
The truth is, your audience likely won't notice if you repurpose your best tips from a year agoβbut your calendar will definitely notice the massive amount of time you save! π₯³

For my fellow creatives suffering from shiny object syndrome, have you ever tried the "Idea Parking Lot" method?
-When a fun, new idea pops into your head, do not drop everything to build it.
-Instead, drop the idea into a dedicated "Parking Lot" list or spreadsheet.
-Let it sit there safely so you don't forget it, and get back to your main goal.
Personally, when I go back to the ideas later I usually find they aren't worth pursing (so am glad I didn't stop everything for them!).

The best place to deliver your opt-in freebie?
Your welcome email! π
This helps your future newsletters hit their inbox (vs other tabs) and gets your new subscriber used to opening your emails.
Here the simple freebie delivery workflow I recommend:
βοΈ Create a free printable (like a cheat sheet or checklist) using whatever software you find easiest (Google Docs, Canva, etc).
π Upload it to Google Drive.
π§ Deliver the freebie in the welcome email by sharing the Google Drive link with your new subscriber! π₯³

Don't wait until you have a certain amount of pageviews or followers to monetize. πΈ
Sure, once you have an audience, it's much easier to monetize through the typical creator revenue steams like affiliate marketing, product creation, and sponsorships. πΈ
However, you can still monetize through revenue streams that are based on your skills vs your influence like:
πΈ User-generated content (UGC) deals
π₯ Licensing content to brands for their own platforms
β¨ Selling freelance services
βοΈ Freelance writing (this is how I monetized when getting started!)
Choose one to implement to start earning asap!

Reminder that your newsletter is a monetizable asset in itself πΈ
While newsletters are great for blog traffic, they can also be monetized directly.
Some ideas:
πΈ Launch a Substack newsletter with paid tiers
π Share affiliate-optimized content or direct affiliate links
βοΈ Create certain newsletters specifically around affiliates (e.g., "how to save big on flights with [insert your recommended affiliate tool]")
π Promote your own products and services
π§ Pitch brands to sponsor your newsletter
Common stats estimate that the average ROI for email is $36-$42 for every $1 spent β so it's a smart focus! π€―

For faster blog growth, place CTAs where you already have eyes! π
1οΈβ£ List all of the places you already have people learning about your business.
(I don't mean platforms, I mean places. So if it's your website, that could be your main menu, specific pages, etc.)
2οΈβ£ Note the most important business building actions you want your audience to take.
Personally, this is almost always getting people to join my email list. Once on my list, I can continuously promote my content (for traffic) and affiliate links and offers (for income).
3οΈβ£ No audience yet? Gain visibility from other creators and businesses by:
-Cross-promoting opt-in freebies with other bloggers (I love guest email swaps!).
-Taking part in online summits, bundles, and list-building events.
-Running ads or sponsoring another creator's newsletter.
Have you optimized your high-visibility placements? π€
