People for Cattle in India (PFCI), an NGO formed in 2012 to control Cattle trafficking and Slaughtering. PFCI has rescued close to 1200 Cattle and also helped several Dogs, Cats, Horses, Pigs, Donkeys, Birds, Reptiles etc… with the help of Tamil Nadu Police, Govt Officials, Volunteers, Celebs & Media personalities. Our constant effect has brought in changes into Animal welfare in various angles were agencies like, Hon Supreme Court of India, Hon Madras High Court, State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), National Green Tribunal (NGT) Etc...Have brought preventive measures. More than 50 Cases against Animal Cruelty & Abuse were filed by PFCI.

On behalf of People For Cattle in India (PFCI), an Animal Welfare NGO, We would like to bring to your attention that a few individuals are trying to chase the #Elephant in Madukkarai, Coimbatore Range by bursting #Fire_Crackers,
The Hon #Madras_High_Court in our Writ Petition (W.P.No.13758 OF 2020) has passed the below #Order,
“ 4. It was brought to our notice that fire #Crackers are being used to #Scare and intimidate #Elephants and that this results in driving them out of their #Habitat. The statutory authorities shall take all reasonable measures to #Prevent the aforesaid. “

#Feeding Dogs is the Best #Solution to handle the so called Man - Animal conflicts.
#Kudos to the Hon #Judges for making such an observation….

In view of the above, kindly note that -
* Feeding Stray Dogs is legal both within and outside any society, and what is prohibited is threatening Dog feeders from carrying out their essential obligation under Article 51A (g) of the Constitution of India that places “ a duty on the citizens of India to protect and improve the natural environment and have compassion for all living creatures “.
* The same is interpreted in Animal Welfare Board of India v. A. Nagaraja & Ors. (2014) @ the Hon Supreme Court of India, “ compassion for all living creatures includes concern for their suffering and well-being ”.
* The provisions under Sub Sec(3), (5), (6) of the Section 7 under Capturing / Sterilisation / Immunisation / Release of Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules 2001 says, “ dogs are being captured from the area for the purpose of sterilization and immunization and will be released in the same area after sterilization and immunization. “
* Further, It is to be noted that Relocating the Community Dogs is Illegal, It's against the ABC Rules, Nature & will ruin the Ecosystem of that Forest Range.
* The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has issued extensive guidelines on feeding stray dogs, and there have been numerous judicial decisions protecting dog feeders and caretakers who face the wrath of ill-informed neighbours.
* Interfering with or harassing anyone who chooses to care for and feed community dogs is criminal intimidation, as defined by Section 503 read with Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
* Further, Sections 428 and 429 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, make cruelty to animals a criminal offense. Under the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, injuring, poisoning, relocating, or removing the shelter of animals are all serious offenses.
