I've been working on my next video in spite of the clingy head cold that has been annoying me. This one has required some serious contemplation, but I do believe I'm ready to review 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I will be recording tomorrow (Friday) as long as my voice holds out. Send me good vibes!

Hello Friends! Woke up with a head cold this morning, so I will not be recording and posting a video today as planned. I'm hoping to post later this week instead. In the meantime, I thought I'd give you a little update. I finished reading all 1157 pages of Murakami's 1Q84 January 31, and then moved on to There are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak which I finished this past Friday. My current read is The Red Notebook by Antoine Laurain which is a nice change; it is a mere 159 pages and is a much lighter read with a touch of romance (at least I think that is what is going on!).

I set aside some reading time but ... this happened instead. I used to do a weekly meme called Sound Travels on my blog. Then I put up a few Posts and added to my Highlights on Instagram. Then ... yeah, what happened to that? We're talking 2008 (blog) and 2019 (Instagram). Anyway, the idea was that "like reading, music can be transporting and take us places." So I did a little "traveling" today and went back to 1993. Have you ever listened to Big Head Todd and the Monsters? What music transports you somewhere when you listen to it?

Hi Book Friends! Thought I would drop in to say "hi" and to let you know I haven't forgotten you all. I had to make some choices with limited time the last week and a half, so I've been staying focused on reading (imagine that!). I'm currently reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and it is a chunkster - 1100+ pages! I am about 2/3 of the way through. It is one weird book (which I expected) and is definitely holding my attention as I try to figure out where he is going with this story. You will be hearing all about it when I finish.
