Y’all, I’m about to put this kid on blast😡😮💨😭😂😂❤️
Yesterday we attended this kid’s senior clap out. As I was filming and scanning, I couldn’t find him. I thought that was odd because he knew I was there. At the end I was able to get a hold of him by phone.
He was smiling and we snapped some pics but I couldn’t help think something was off. He opted to just use his brother’s cap and gown because “it didn’t make sense to get another one” even though his brother is a few inches shorter. He didn’t have a tassel but assures me he’ll get one at graduation or “just bounce” when they ask the kids to move the tassel from one side to the other 😒🙄
Afterwards, I realized he didn’t have any chords. I asked him last night. His immediate response was to smile and just say he didn’t feel like wearing them. When I asked which chords he had he said one for his scholarship and one for “Magna Cum Laude or something like that”. This kid graduated with a 4.1 GPA within the top 10% of his class both at school and across the state. He just chose not acknowledge it?! I could be shocked or I could just accept that this is Damon acting the exact same way he’s been his entire life.
His accomplishments are personal and while he appreciates us celebrating him as a family he doesn’t do it for public acknowledgement, he’s on a mission to see what he can do with his brain…for himself and no one else. He’s headed off to study Mechanical Engineering in the Fall and I honestly can’t think of a career path better suited for his “unique” personality 😂❤️❤️❤️

My favorite little baker made these scrumptious blackberry-Brie pastries for Thanksgiving. I can’t even tell you how many I’ve eaten. Watching her develop her skills has been fun and tasty 🤤
I get a lot of comments on my hair and thought I’d share the simplicity of my routine. To be clear I have been a “curly girl” for 16 years and since then have NEVER straightened my hair.
1. I am a believer in DevaCurl products and have used them for the majority of my curly journey. I also go to a DevaCurl certified stylist because it makes ALL the difference! My primary product is this conditioner. I have been shampoo free for several years though they do offer no-poo.
2. My stylist introduced me to Innersense to hold my curl definition and lock in the moisture. A little goes a long way and this has done wonders for my high porosity curls.
3. The single most important thing I did for my curls was to stop using combs and brushes. I detangle and style using only my hands.
4. I air dry whenever possible unless I’m in a time crunch or during the colder months. It’s essential to squeeze the excess water out of your curls and to not way them down with too much product. My hair dries much faster these days. #curly#devacurl#natural#styled#love#beautiful
