I do intend to get some other videos out, but lately time has not been on my side so the This Week videos are about all I’m able to keep up with right now. And for me, that’s ok for now because I would like to chronicle as many of the PS2 release dates as possible.

Well, I have another This Week In PS2 History dropping tomorrow. I was in a rush this week and made two mistakes on this one. Long story but it is a bit embarrassing….though one isn’t really a mistake because it’s partly true and the other is just an error outright. So, I don’t have time to redo the video so I’m going to make a game of it and see if you can identify the errors. Bonus for anyone who knows why one of the errors really isn’t an error. Well, just a bit ago we hit 6,000 subscribers. Thank you again to everyone who has supported this channel. I normally would have done a video to celebrate but I'm not feeling well enough to get in front of the camera. My loyal dog of 11 years passed on Wednesday, I had surgery on Thursday and I've had quite a few negative comments again lately. Several people are back on the "it's not you in the video" kick again and whole slew of it's AI comments so I'm just kind of in a bit of a mood today and really don't feel like doing a video. I am, however, very thankful for those who have checked out our channel and who have responded with such positive comments. I'm still learning how to do all of this but one thing that hasn't changed is how much I love retro gaming and specifically the PS2.

This has been fun and continues to be fun and so much of it is because of all of you. I want to keep the PS2 memories alive, I want to help others with PS2 emulation tips, I hope to provide ways to game on the PS2 (original hardware), FPGA, Emulation on PCs and handhelds, etc... because I feel the games of the past need to be preserved and I think they are still amazing today. I've especially been enjoying getting to know titles that I missed back in the day and I've really been enjoying playing some of these on a handheld device. I would have killed for a handheld with PS2 games and graphics on it back in 2000.

Any way, I'm rambling on, probably the pain meds. :) Thank you all for being a part of this journey and remember..... Stay Retro!

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I put out a video and well, I finally got around to putting together the Killzone video. All gameplay on this one was recorded on the Retroid Pocket G2's built in screen recorder and I think it looks fantastic. I did have to lower the resolution a bit because when using the built in recorder I couldn't get it to record at 3x without some stutter so it was recorded at 2.5x the resolution of the PS2 but I still think it looks fantastic. Please give it a look, and please give me comments about this iconic PS2 game. I personally spent many hours on this game despite it's flaws. One thing I did forget to mention was that once I got HD Loader for the PS2 the texture pop-in went away and the levels loaded SOOOOO much faster. HD Loader was truly an amazing app on the PS2.

So I’ve been playing the PS2 version of Killzone on the Pocket G2 and now that the crashing has been figured out and I just wanted to get your thoughts on Killzone ahead of my review of the game. What did you think of it back in the day. Were you excited because of the “Halo Killer Hype?” And then after you played it? Looking back, was it fair to the game for them to use that marketing strategy? Ignoring Halo, did you feel it was a good game? If you had a hard drive back then did you run it off of the hard drive? That seemed to fix some of the technical flaws for me. How above you? And now with emulation we can play this game with better visuals, a higher frame rate and no texture pop-in problems. Do you enjoy it via emulation. Let’s talk Killzone and be looking for my up coming video reviewing it on the Retroid Pocket G2.

So, I broke down and purchased the new Retroid Pocket G2 today. I didn't feel like waiting for the Pocket 6 in January and since they both use the same CPU/GPU I thought what the heck. I am, of course, doing this for PS2 gaming on the go and for PSP gaming. If you all are interested I can do some videos about the device and how it handles PS2 games. I may also pick up the docking station for it so It will be simple to play it on my TV as well and for recording off of with my capture card. If that's something you all would be interested in let me know....maybe I'll do an "Unboxing" of this when it comes in.

Thanks again everyone who has subscribed to my channel! It's been a fun last few months and I hope to keep making more PS2 and some PSP content.
