I finally decided to purchase a production cart to travel with. I got the ProAim 36 Bowado. But right away noticed some serious weakness so I’m now customizing it to make it stronger and more efficient with quick release folding cam system for the wheels and butterfly latches to lock it in place when traveling! Maybe a future video review on this cart(?)

Not every interview location is ideal.

This room started with bare walls, bright windows, and very little character. By controlling exposure, shaping the light, and rearranging a few elements, we transformed it into a usable interview setup.

It’s time to put my dad’s camera back to use. Today I’m dropping this beauty to get a cleaning and a tune up so I can start using it. 120mm! What should I shoot with it? I’m thinking street portrait on black and white film. Thoughts?

Ran into an interesting issue today, and wanted to see what you all think. This was a great location, loved the result of this setup. I had multiple interviews to do and was not able to find a revers set up (look right) because the window dictated the key side. If I move the camera closer to the window and turn the chair to face the other way I have a reverse key! If I put the camera on the other side by the bookshelves it points to another window with a bad view. So I decided not to move. Does anyone see any other options?

This table became really valuable this week while programming my light meter.

Instead of calculating ND every time, I programmed the exact stop values into the meter. Now, I just select the ND I’m using on the FX6, and everything lines up instantly.

No guessing. No math. Just consistent exposure.

Hope this helps simplify your process on set.

Testing a new light/set up! This is the Amaran Halo 100x powered by the Peak battery and the Space light modifier. First time using it and I really like how soft it is and the bottom down light on the table. Look for a review video on the 100x coming up soon.
