In yesterday's video I compared this Lance with a photograph of period spontoons... the center one in the photograph is very similar to the modern reproduction I have... let me know what you think in the comments... Photo is from page 248 in Neumann's Collector's Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution...

If you are new to black powder shooting or are looking for alternative methods for cleaning... please do not follow this guys example... Brillo pads are not a recommended cleaning agent for muskets... the steel wool is (o) as opposed to (oooo) meaning it is too course and will scratch and gouge your bore... even worse is the soap impregnated in the steel wool is highly caustic and if not properly removed the soap residue will cause serious rust and pitting in the bore... for someone who keeps touting a musket is an investment... this guy refuses to invest in the proper tools and materials to properly maintain his " investment "... Caveat Emptor...

Sorry for not posting videos for a bit... since I no longer have a studio and last weeks rain hampered my video projects... but good news is im prepping for my trip to Martin's Station... so will have some videos up next week... I have a small project to work on so will shoot that as well as various fort activities...
