🤝Thank you, Congressman ‪@RobertAderholt‬, for a very substantive and valuable meeting with our Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China delegation.

🇨🇳We discussed one of the central strategic questions for the democratic world: how to compete with China effectively, not only in security terms, but also through economic strength, industrial resilience, trusted supply chains and real infrastructure.

🛡️In this context, I raised the importance of the Three Seas Initiative as a practical framework for strengthening the North South axis of Europe. This is not an abstract geopolitical concept. It is about ports, railways, energy, logistics and the capacity of our region to act as a serious economic and security partner.

⚓️I was especially pleased to present the concept of ‪@PortHaller‬, a strategic dual use port project on the Polish Baltic coast. For Poland, the Baltic states and the wider eastern flank of NATO, such infrastructure can become a critical asset for trade, military mobility and regional resilience.

🤝Thank you, Congressman ‪@RepDarinLaHood‬, for an important and very valuable meeting with our Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China delegation.

Congressman LaHood serves on the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. This is exactly the right forum to understand that China is not merely an economic competitor, but a systemic challenge to the security, sovereignty and industrial resilience of the democratic world.

During our conversation, I raised one of my most serious concerns about the current direction of European policy👇

📉🇪🇺The European Union is pursuing a self-destructive energy transition increasingly based on products, components and critical materials dominated by China. Europe has still not learned the lesson from its dependence on Russian raw materials. Now, year by year, under the banner of the so-called green transition, we are building a new strategic dependence — this time on a far more powerful actor, whose foreign policy is based on pressure, coercion and demonstrations of force.

In 2025 alone, EU imports from China of products, components and critical inputs linked to the green transition amounted to around USD 70 billion. These are not neutral trade flows. These are strategic dependencies being built with public money.

💸By subsidising renewable energy, electric mobility and related infrastructure with hundreds of billions of euros, the EU is in practice creating enormous financial transfers to China. European taxpayers are financing a policy that weakens our own industry, undermines energy security and increases Beijing’s leverage over Europe.

This has enormous significance for the future of transatlantic relations.

🇺🇸If the United States wants a strong, sovereign and reliable Europe as an ally, it should support common-sense political forces seeking to end this suicidal policy. A Europe dependent on China is not a stronger partner for America. It is a weaker link in the alliance.

🏭There is also a direct American interest here. If the United States wants to remain a significant supplier of LNG and strategic energy resources to Europe, the current direction of EU energy policy may make that increasingly difficult. Instead of real diversification, Europe risks placing itself at the mercy of Chinese-controlled supply chains.

I hope that in these areas — China, energy security, industrial resilience and the future of the transatlantic alliance — we will be able to cooperate closely and effectively.

🤝Together with John Moolenaar, Chairman of the China Select Committee and Co-Chair of IPAC, Co-Chairs Fatmir Mediu from Albania and Eduardo Nakayama from Paraguay, as well as courageous witnesses, we opened a press conference commemorating the victims of the Chinese Communist Party regime at Tiananmen Square.


🇨🇳It is important not only to remember, but also to understand the lesson this tragedy carries for our international cooperation with China.


💬Later, we discussed what the international approach towards China should be, including its growing influence over the so-called green transition in European Union countries.


🏭We should not be naive. Forcing changes in the energy sector while simultaneously building deep dependence on the People’s Republic of China is a recipe for a disaster in future.

💬Później rozmawialiśmy o tym, jakie powinno być międzynarodowe podejście do Chin, w tym o ich rosnącym wpływie na tak zwaną zieloną transformację w państwach Unii Europejskiej.


🏭Nie możemy być naiwni. Wymuszanie zmian w sektorze energetycznym przy jednoczesnym budowaniu głębokiej zależności od Chińskiej Republiki Ludowej to przepis na przyszłą katastrofę.
