Hello and thanks for visiting my channel. A bit of background for anyone interested....
I've decided to challenge myself and try to do some basic recordings of as many cover songs as I might know. There's no agenda to these uploads, I'm basically recording how I practice. I like the idea of keeping things a bit looser, I want to make things simple for myself.
There will be no multiple takes or edits, no rehearsing the song before I record it and no multiple cameras. There will be mistakes, but I'm playing most of these songs from memory and the idea is that these recordings represent how I would tackle these songs if I was going to be playing them in a cover band situation.

Apologies everyone, I've been a little short on videos this past week. I did about 8 or 9 covers from AC/DC that are completely blocked from being posted to Youtube which is a total bummer.
I wish the industry could get this sorted out FINALLY, because 100% of the other covers I've done aren't being monetized by me. They're being monetized by the original artist since they have allowed people to perform cover versions of the songs and I'm 100% on board for that.
I believe the original artist should be receiving the $$ from cover videos, it's the fair thing to do. But completely blocking any and all covers is a heavy-handed approach and just breeds bad feelings towards bands and artists IMO. To me, performing covers on Youtube should sort of fall into the Fair Use Copyright territory, perhaps classified under the teaching/research category....... but what do I know?
Either way, I've got a few other songs I tackled during this session so those will go up over the next few days until I get another chance to sit down and play some more songs.

Last year, I set a goal to try and upload a new cover song every day for 365 days. Almost 400 videos (and 1500 subs) later, we've now arrived at the 1 year mark and I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who's subscribed, commented and liked the videos.
It's been a lot of fun to try and tackle some different genres and challenge myself to play some of these covers with little to no rehearsal time in between. Some songs turn out better than others, but that's part of the fun.
I'm going to be taking a little time away from the covers as I have an injury that I need to rehab, but it won't be a long break. In the meantime I'll continue to post the Babble videos talking about different music related subjects for anyone who enjoys those videos.
In lieu of new videos for the next little bit, I encourage everyone to look back through the archives. I'm approaching 1000 videos on the channel now so I'm sure everyone can find something they haven't watched before.
