Children’s Parliament UK visited Janet Duke Primary School as the UK Mace Tour continued, giving pupils the opportunity to experience democracy first-hand by voting for their own Child MP at official polling stations supported by Essex Police.
Pupils also danced along to The Democracy Song Ibiza Clubbing Version, with Alison Wheeler and Children’s Champion Action Amanda joining the celebration and bringing energy, excitement, and youth voice to the event.
Through the experience, children learned about democracy, leadership, voting, and the importance of having their voices heard within their school and community.
Last week, Children’s Parliament UK was honoured to welcome Lieutenant General David Leakey CMG CVO CBE as special guest speaker at the Sir David Amess Children’s Parliament UK fundraiser, hosted by the Dan Hanson Charitable Foundation at The Carlton Club in London.
The evening celebrated the importance of empowering young voices and featured the specially created Children’s Parliament UK Mace.
This Thursday, the UK Mace Tour continues at Janet Duke Primary School in Essex with a full parliamentary ceremony attended by National Co-ordinator Sharon Evans, Patron Anna Firth, and Co-founder Richard Hillgrove.
Together, we continue to inspire the next generation to engage with democracy, leadership, and positive change.
