Hi, I’m Carol Yu. I work on the frontlines of Shenzhen’s tech ecosystem — building innovation platforms and incubating the next generation of AI, robotics, and hardware startups.
On Inside China Tech, I break down the people, systems, and ideas behind one of the world’s fastest-moving innovation hubs — from AI and manufacturing to startups, education, and global tech competition.
If you want to understand how China builds and scales innovation in real time — subscribe. I post every day, and I read every comment.

Carol Yu | Inside China Tech
Before “AI” and “future of work” became global conversations, I had the privilege of sitting down with some of the world’s most influential thinkers to talk about where the world was heading.
In 2017, #PhoenixTV @phoenixtvglobal launched a flagship global interview series, 《领航者 / #Visionaries》 — where I worked as both producer and host. Over three years, we engaged with leaders shaping the global economy, technology, investment, and policy.
Guests included:
Henry Paulson, Lawrence Summers, Stephen Schwarzman, David Rubenstein, Jim Breyer, Klaus Schwab, Yossi Vardi, Terry Gou, Wang Chuanfu, Dong Mingzhu… and many more.
Looking back, what’s striking is this:
Many of the questions we explored then — about globalization, technology, capital, and talent — are even more relevant today in the AI era.
This interview is one of those moments.
It reminds me that while technology evolves rapidly, the core questions about leadership, decision-making, and long-term vision remain constant.
I’m grateful to have had a front-row seat to these conversations — and to continue exploring these themes today through #InsideChinaTech.
Curious — what insights still feel relevant to you today?
