Nature, Architecture & Divine (Travel Shorts)
This heritage building is the Sonal Building,August Kranti Rd, next to Cumballa Hill Hospital, Kemps Corner, Tardeo, South Mumbai.
Have a look at the motif patterns and stonewalled exterior of the building.
This Victorian styled architecture with open balconies and neo classical pillar work does need urgent maintenance and restoration work.
Limited information was available online about the building, it houses many popular businesses and shops at the ground floor.
But seeing it in such a condition is really sad, as the property lies in a prime locale and deserves better maintenance and upkeep.
The side section of the building painted white looks good with similar motif designs.
I hope they carry the restoration work soon.

This is the (Part-2) Jalbhoy Sett Building, Javji Dadaji Marg, Grant Road West, Tardeo, South Mumbai.
Here's a look at the mansion from up close, notice the window borders and the wooden framed windows of this old school architecture.
The top turret with the slanted roof and motif pattern is clearly visible here.
Notice the beautiful grill work on the open balconies which have now been covered by the modern sliding windows but the charm is intact.
The array of plants on the street below along with the corner plot on the tapered street in front of it truly gives it a peaceful vibe.
I hope they maintain and preserve the mansion the way it is.
Wonderful old school architecture indeed!

This is the street view of August Kranti Road, Near Kemps Corner, Tardeo, South Mumbai.
Have a look at the Taraporewala Building with the clay tiled roofs and the long open balconies which reminds one of the olden era.
The road slopes downwards from here up until the August Kranti Maidan.
Now notice the grillwork and open balconies
of the building to its right called the New Bhiwandi House.
It has undergone considerable modifications on the exterior though with fitment of modern sliding windows.
One can see the arch design and motif patterns on the right side of the building, entry here is restricted, so I could only manage the view from afar.
Wonderful architecture and locality indeed!
