Welcome! I’m Jessica, and this channel is focused on fantasy and science fiction books, with occasional mystery and horror. I make book-focused videos centered on recommendations, reviews, and reading wrap-ups, with an emphasis on character-driven stories, strong themes, and thoughtful writing.

You’ll find:
• Fantasy and sci-fi recommendation lists
• Monthly reading wrap-ups and book reviews
• Previews of upcoming SFF releases
• Weekly reading updates and TBRs

I post twice a week and focus on curated recommendations and ongoing conversations about what I’m reading.

I just shared my r/Fantasy Bingo TBR for this year!

I’d love to know, what’s one book you’re hoping to fit into the challenge?

Fantasy rarely gives us older protagonists, and Daughter of Crows by Mark Lawrence does something really special with that. My latest reading update is live!

What book features an older protagonist? Drop your recommendations
below or in the video comments!

March reading has officially begun, and Juliet Marillier is already trying to destroy me! 42% into Son of the Shadows and I did not come prepared for this. If you caught my TBR this week you know why I'm here, and I have no regrets, only feelings. What are you reading this weekend?

I couldn't wait, so I'm reading The Poet Empress this weekend! Quick note if you're on the fence: although this is published by Bramble, Tor's imprint that does many romances, this is most definitely a dark fantasy. The strong, morally complicated lead reminds me of Mara from Daughter of the Empire. Full review coming in my update on Tuesday this week!

Red Winter won the last poll for which new release you most wanted my thoughts on, so I wanted to share that my first impressions (first 20%) are in this week's reading update!

I also talk about a few other January reads, including a great new sci-fi, if you’re in the mood for a longer check-in.

Happy Monday! This week’s Library Dispatch just went up and it covers a few very different reads. I had sci fi twists, big fantasy worldbuilding, and a folklore novella that hit me harder than expected. I also ended up reading The Ninth Rain, which won last week’s poll and I share my full thoughts in the video.

Question of the Week:
Which book world or setting has stuck with you the most?

Quiet mood today? A ⭐ is perfect.
