Hi 😊I usually react to new Eurovision songs on my channel. There is a reason why there is no video for this year’s Israeli entry yet.
This decision is not about taking a political stance neither pro nor anti Israel or Palestine. It’s mainly about how social media algorithms and comment sections work. While most comments on my video last year were thoughtful and respectful, I’ve also seen how quickly discussions around this topic can become disrespectful online, especially towards the artist or the country.
Since I now also create content on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where algorithms can amplify controversy very quickly, I simply don’t want to feed that dynamic.
For those of you who are interested in my musical opinion: I did watch the song today, just without the camera on. “Michelle” by Noam is, in my opinion, a good to strong entry. The music video is well produced and his voice is great. At the same time, I personally feel like the song is missing that one special element that really makes it stand out. I could imagine it being received somewhat similarly to Claude’s entry from the Netherlands last year.
I hope you understand my decision, and thank you to everyone who helps keep this space respectful and focused on the music. 💜
