Today is the anniversary of Chernobyl. ☢️
Ten years ago, my brothers-in-arms and I hiked into the Chernobyl exclusion zone. We came up with this as our own kind of rehabilitation after our 2014-2015 military campaign. Official permits were out of the question—what would be the point? We slipped through a secret hole in the fence and hiked for three days straight to Chernobyl and Pripyat.
It was pure nature, recovering completely without human interference. I saw deer, roe deer, wild boars, foxes... even wild cows. It was easily one of the best hikes of my life.
And then the russians came in 2022. They dug the whole place up, kicked up radioactive dust, and mined everything around. Fucking try taking a walk there now. They left us with nothing but memories of a disaster that they somehow managed to make even more catastrophic. Because everything they touch turns to shit. But at least we still have these cool photos.
🎬 And now I have a question for you:
Some time ago, I directed a documentary film called "Chernobyl 35". It features unique archival footage and interviews with liquidators and people who lived there during the disaster.

Сьогодні роковини Чорнобиля. ☢️
Десять років тому ми з побратимами ходили в Чорнобильську зону. Придумали це для себе як своєрідну реабілітацію після нашої військової кампанії 2014-2015 років. Про якісь офіційні дозволи мови не йшло — бо який тоді в цьому сенс? Зайшли через секретну дірку в паркані, а потім ще три доби йшли пішки до самого Чорнобиля та Прип'яті.
Справжня природа, яка відновилася без втручання людей. Бачив оленів, косуль, кабанів, лисиць… навіть диких корів. Це був один із найкращих походів у моєму житті.
А потім прийшла русня у 2022-му. Все перекопала, підняла радіоактивний пил і замінувала все навколо. Хуй тепер там так погуляєш. Вони залишили нам тільки спогади про катастрофу, яку зробили ще катастрофічнішою. Бо все, до чого вони торкаються, перетворюється на лайно. Але залишилися от ці кльові фотки.

Свого часу я зняв документальний фільм під назвою «Чорнобиль 35». У ньому зібрана унікальна хроніка, а також інтервʼю з ліквідаторами та людьми, які жили там під час аварії.

I started filming this material back in 2014. Each episode follows the path of a different hero. It’s a story about the evolution of people who experienced the war in 2014 and faced it again in 2022. It’s about how their worldviews, decisions, and lives have changed over the years.

No scripts, no retakes - just our reality.

Each episode follows a specific person whom I’ve been filming for 11 years, from 2014 to 2025.

Між ротаціями вдалось зустрітися з чудовим документалістом Віталієм Манським. В 2017 він намагався показати наш War for Peace в москві, за що отримав справу від Генпрокуратури рф (і я теж заодно).

Between rotations I managed to meet with a wonderful documentary filmmaker Vitaly Mansky. In 2017, he tried to show our War for Peace in Moscow, for which he received a case from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation (and I was also at the same time).
