Marina Yee is famously known for being part of the Antwerp Six. She’s considered to be the least discussed figure among them despite her distinct position in shaping modern fashion. Her name might be a strange one for may people, as well as her influence, because they’re quiet - the one that slowly spread through inside the industry without the need of any witnesses - but powerful. Because of Marina Yee, we learn how to appreciate clothes and fashion in a way that no system can do. Her legacy lives on through the act of making and cosuming with responsibility, ethic and sentimental value.
I know I’ve been absent for so long and haven’t released anything for almost a year now.
The truth is I need to take time with my content and I don’t have much time now because of my job. It’s so crazy to balance multiple tasks at once.
The last year went by really makes me think about how consuming a job could be. I feel devastated as I can’t really do or create anything creative.
I am, however, working on a new video for a few months now, and I hope I could soon release it.
I know a lot of people are here and still here because you saw something in this channel, and expected quality content from me. I want to appologize for not living up to that.
I’m trying harder this year to give you more content and hopefully it’s not gonna be a long time coming.
Once again, I’m grateful for everyone here. Wish you all the best. Thank you for being patient!
Another amazing collection from Yohji Yamamoto He added 2 more looks to the collection to pay tribute to Giorgio Armani. They met decades ago at an Armani’s store opening and this isn’t the first time he honor other fashion icons/legends.
In Yohji we trust. It’s always about making clothes, he create a consistancy run but also know how to surprise the audience with each and every collection. Even though this is RTW, but the approach feels more couture - a trait that I personally think appear more and more in his recent collections.
Just look at the clothes and let it speak for itself!
Michèle Lamy - one of the women that I admired most.
She’s a shapeshifter: a lawyer, a cabaret dancer, a designer, an activist, a bussiness woman,… Extremely bold and talented but she’s never been self-indulgent. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and as time goes by, the way she practices art is not only for the sake of the art but also to tell stories, to be political.
I dare to say that without her, Rick Owens wouldn’t have made it this far. He started out as her employee, and at this time, Lamy had already made a name for herself in bussiness and fashion. But Rick is definitely a talented man which we can’t deny, and I found their relationship is one of the strongest that I’ve ever witness. They are a perfect match. Honestly, I can’t see anything in this world that could separate them (I mean literally anything).
Most people know her as Rick’s muse or wife, but I hate that label, especially on such a spectacular woman!
The iconic shirt from Olivier Theysken Spring 1999.
Hey everyone, I know I haven’t been active. My life’s turned upside down for better or worse. I’m grateful that there are people who back me up and support me through this chaotic time. Recently, I’d received the best compliment that a content creator like me could have gotten, which motivate me to continue with this journey. I know that I haven’t been here for long but to receive a lot of love from the first video to the most recent one is a huge honor for me. Everything I did was just out of passion and the interest for fashion, I didn’t really calculate to make something big out of it. But here I am, someone (I guess I could say that lol).
I hope that you guys would continue to support me in the future, tho the contents might be produced slower and take more time to finish since I’m very busy now.
And once again, thank you for loving me, supporting me and appreciate my contents. It’s always an honor to be loved!
Faye Wong's sense of fashion can be summed up in the word "coolness". These are some of the pieces she wore early on her career.
1. Tabi boots 2001 2. Tom Ford for Gucci F/W 1999 collection 3. Stella McCartney for Chloé S/S 1999 4. Alexander McQueen sandals in 1997 5. Alexander McQueen F/W 1997 collection
Alexander McQueen for Visionaries Magazine & Björk's Homogenic album cover
Devon Aoki first appeared on Visionaries Magazine with this look from Alexander McQueen's 1997 A/W collection.
Björk was inspired by the multicultural references in the collection and wanted to adopt the same approach for her album cover, so she contacted McQueen. She wanted to capture the feeling of "someone who is put into an impossible situation, so impossible that she has to become a warrior. A warrior who has to fight not with weapons, but with love".
Both were shot by Nick Knight and art directed by Lee McQueen.
