The Final Revelation: Simão Toko’s Last public Appearance (31 December 1982)


This photograph depicts Simão Toko, also known as “Mayamona,” in a moment of reverence surrounded by members of the congregation. The image was taken on December 31, 1982.

In that day, Simão Toko did not leave his residence to participate in the church service.

However, at approximately 3:00 PM, while congregants were gathered in celebration of the approaching New Year, he made a brief public appearance.

During this occasion, of the brothers named Lazarus, a worship leader, sang a hymn containing the following words:

“Simão, why don't you take off your mask? We know you are the Christ; your name is in the Bible.”

In response, the Simão Toko said:

“When a student is taking a test, they are given a time limit to complete the examination; it is not yet time.”

This event is widely regarded as his final public appearance.

I am a Sun that passes in the East, but the East cannot deprive me. I pass in the West, but the West cannot deprive me.

I am the Sun that passes everywhere, from East to West, and from the West I also pass here (Africa), but you cannot deprive me too. I pass by everywhere and will continue to pass by until I rupture the church. This is my will.
