Tomorrow at 1pm BST, I'll be playing through each and every Nitro and Retro course in Mario Kart DS! I'm mainly doing this as a means of recording footage for a video, but also as a way of dusting the cobwebs off the old Twitch channel. I'll be setting everything to its most challenging difficulty so there's no guarantees (but there will be for raging).
A very happy 21st birthday to Lego Star Wars: The Video Game! Choosing undiluted vodka as a first legal drink (in North America) is ballsy, but they're an adult so they can make their own decisions.
Much like you can (should) make a decision to watch the 20 year retrospective I made on the game, which has seen a considerable upswing in views lately. Here's a link for the interested: https://youtu.be/_TzR-NMD0ks?si=Q6pZR...
Tomorrow (or today, as it's 1am my time) I'll be releasing my first retrospective video, all about the first Lego Star Wars game, now 20 years old (though it's now like a month away from turning 21). I;m not sure what time it'll go up, but it'll be once I've finished the upload, so just keep an eye out for it in your sub box!
It's a fairly long video, over 1 hour, and there may be some inconsistencies with audio quality because I've had to record in slightly different setups, but I hope you can look past that and hopefully enjoy the finished project.
Apologies for the lack of uploads and streams over on twitch, but I do have positive news to share.
Firstly, I don't know when I'll be back to streaming. I'm toying with the idea of going live once a week, but cramming all the "shows" into one big broadcast, just so I have more time to focus on YouTube and tome to relax in the evening.
I've finished the script for my first big video, a retrospective look at a 20 year old game. I need to give it a once over to make sure it's coherent and nothing has been repeated or whatever. But it's all there, I just need to give it a spit shine.
I had a tough time writing it, I'm not a writer by any means, and that might come through in the video, but bear with it as I try and work on that particular part of the production process (ok, I'm decent at alliteration I think).
I've got the intro edited to an extent. By that I mean, the voiceover and footage is on the timeline, but I'm still deciding how to format it visually. Plus some bits will be done in front of a camera, but that'll come after I wrap up that part of the edit.
Should everything go to plan, I plan to release it before the end of the month. That'll depend on what time I have to spend on it, but considering I'm over the most intimidating hurdle, it should be achievable, but I won't hold my breath.
I've also got a list of games I want to cover in future retrospectives, a format I've decided will be the main focus of the channel. The Hit and Run tier list has taken an indefinite back seat, but I think I can get more out of retrospectives than tier lists, so I want to make those my main priority going forward. It will come out, but not for a few months.
I'm looking forward to this first video, and hope you enjoy watching it once it goes live.
No changes to the games I'm playing this week, but in the interest of freeing up some time to work on videos/give myself some time off, I may go down to three a week soon. I'm fairly confident of finishing Ratchet & Clank tonight, so if I do, GTA4 will move to Monday evenings until I finish the game. I'll update this if it happens, but here's what I'll be doing for now.
Regardless, 7:30pm GMT for the finale(?) of Ratchet & Clank 2002
No changes to the games played this week over on my Twitch, but the Thursday Bully stream will be starting an hour earlier now (despite what the graphic says).
Back tonight with more Ratchet & Clank for the Pee Ess Too at 7:30pm GMT, in what could be the penultimate stream
Gonna try and commit to a solid streaming schedule, so here's what I'll be up to this week over at www.twitch.tv/fuzzlivebeer :
- Tomorrow, GTA4 as per
- Monday will be a PS2/retro day, so I'll be going back to Ratchet & Clank to catch up on a series I started a few months ago
- Wednesday will be a Watch-a-long day, starting with Series 1 of Robot Wars
- Thursday will be a Bully day, again continuing on from an earlier stream series
Also, I spent today working on the VODs channel (youtube.com/@fuzzlitebeerarchives), so every stream I've done will be up there by the end of the month.
Going to do a massive bumper stream tomorrow to celebrate getting affiliate status. Gonna be starting with Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, then (depending on when my new ethernet cable shows up) Ratchet and Clank 2002, before topping it of with GTA IV. The way I'm thinking of structuring it is to play 2.5-3 hours of each, and today I've moved some furniture around so my consoles are closer to the PC to make it easier to capture console footage, so I'll be playing LSW & RAC from the Xbox and Playstation respectively.
If Ratchet and Clank doesn't work out I may substitute something else in it's place. The reason is I'll be streaming it via PS Plus, but as I'll be running a twitch stream at the same time, it may struggle a bit. So if it's too laggy, I'll have something installed on the console to make up for it
It's been quite a while since I've done anything with this channel, but as many of my new subscribers will know, TripleJump has ceased operations and therefore I have lost my job. It's been a shitty time for the whole team, but eveyone is going there own paths now, mainly into streaming and other content creation on YouTube, and things will hopefully work out very well for them in the end.
I've given it thought and I'm going to try and do something with this channel, because I don't want to have all my skills and experience go to waste after my 4 years with TripleJump. Basically, I'm overhauling the channel, and one thing to note is that all my previous videos, mainly the Saints goal montages, have had to go, but I will be making an archive channel where I will re-upload them without fear of getting demontised and into YouTube's bad books. I would very much like to make this a full time job, but with some of the reels receiving partial blocks around the world due to my use of licensed music, I'm not risking it.
I'm planning on making an update video to act as a trailer for the channel tomorrow (just waiting for some equipment to arrive before that happens) where I'll go into some finer points about what I'll be doing. I've already updated the channel description so you can get an idea for what's to come, but I'll talk about it more tomorrow.
