I’m renovating a 1930s cottage one project at a time and documenting the full process as I bring an old house back to life.
This channel is all about real DIY renovation, thoughtful design decisions, budget-conscious choices, and the ups and downs that come with transforming a fixer upper. You’ll find honest renovation progress, material and layout decisions, practical problem-solving, and a home that is slowly becoming something beautiful and functional.
If you love historic homes, cottage renovations, old house charm, and real-life fixer upper projects, you’re in the right place.

A little thing a lot of y’all may not know about me: I’m an Air Force veteran. 🇺🇸
I don’t talk about it a lot online, but I’m very proud of the time I served and very grateful to live in this country.
With the Fourth of July coming up, I’ve been thinking about all the things I love this time of year: a flag on a front porch, red geraniums, old houses dressed up for the holiday, and all the pretty old-fashioned Americana that comes with it.
But more than anything, I’m thankful for what it represents. Just feeling extra grateful this week. ❤️🤍💙

I started a Substack called “The House Worth Saving.“

It’s a place for more of the things that do not always fit into a YouTube video: the design decisions, DIY lessons, old house thoughts, and all the little details I get way too excited about.

Apparently I needed another place to talk about houses with lots of character, big potential, and a few issues everyone else would rather not deal with. 😂

I’d love for you to join me over there. 🤍

A new video is up today
This one is full of inspiration for renovation projects (especially if you are on a budget), a few thoughts on what I think really makes a renovation successful, and a look back at the kitchen at our house on the farm since so many of you have asked to see more of it.
It’s lighthearted, full of pretty things, and made for anyone who is renovating, dreaming about renovating, or just loves good design.

👀 those before and afters! 😆

In case you missed it, there’s a new cottage video up 🤍
This one has a couple of surprises and a little break from the exterior work, but it still is very much part of the 1930s cottage story. I’m working on two old matching kitchen cabinets that were given to me by a family member, and they’re headed for the cottage kitchen.
There’s antique cabinet rescuing, budget cottage plans, a hidden detail under the paint, and me once again getting very excited about something old that most normal people would probably not be this excited about.
I’m also working on a second video for this week that should go out Saturday, so apparently we are having a very cottage-filled week over here.
Thank y’all for being here and for caring about this little house with me. It makes all of this so much more fun.

No video this morning, but I promise I’m not just out here making excuses.
I started working on the Hoosier cabinet and found an original hidden detail under the old finish, so now I’m tracing little art deco tulips and trying to decide if I’m dedicated or just unwell.
The video is coming. This one just got a little more complicated in the best way 🌷 I’m going to TRY my best to finish the edit tomorrow

Tomorrow’s video is coming together and I’m really excited about this one.
The outside of the cottage has changed so much over the last few weeks, and this video has a lot going on!
Adding the lattice detail to the porch gable, setting up a drip system for the window boxes, and I finally have a Peggy Martin rose after looking everywhere. They have been sold out and I am so glad to be able to add one to the front of the house!
Also, my truck is finally back, which means I can haul things again and be a fully functioning renovation person. Very exciting.
And I was given two antique pieces from a family member for the kitchen. They need some work, but they feel so right for this cottage, and I’m excited to show you.
New video goes live tomorrow. I can’t wait for you to see this one.

I just got this 1930s Hoosier cabinet that was passed down from a family member, and I think she still has a lot of life left ❤️
If this was going in the cottage, what color would you paint it?

No new video this week, but there is still a lot happening 🤍
We’ve made progress at the cottage, and I’ve also been working on some behind-the-scenes things to help make this channel more sustainable long term.
I’m still working some at my regular job because we do, unfortunately, have to eat lol. But I’m also trying to get more help with content so I can keep showing up here without burning myself out.
Everything is good and moving in the right direction. I just need a little patience while I work on balancing it all.
Thank you for being here. I’m so excited to show you what’s next ❤️

It’s Live ✨
This week’s video is up, and we’re adding more storybook cottage details to the front porch.
The rusty railings are gone, the new columns are up, and now we’re working on the little details that are making the whole cottage feel so much softer and more charming.
This one was a lot of work, even if some of the progress feels subtle, but I’m so excited to share where it’s headed.
Come watch when you get a chance ❤️
