It’s midsummer, and the scent of the linden trees pervades every street corner. We’ve also discovered that we have two mulberry trees in our garden! From one of them, we make jam, and we uncover the fascinating history of the other. Perhaps this white mulberry was once planted to feed silkworms. Perhaps not. We may never know. But these old trees remind us of a time when silk production was part of everyday life across Bulgaria.

Another video for you all and a quick update about Jeff. Jeff has had his operation! The hospital is wonderful extremely clean and very modern and the care has been excellent! We can’t praise them enough. He had his operation on Thursday and he was on his feet yesterday when I went to see him he’s doing extremely well. and he has a lovely view from the window😊
