Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to know their health status and receive professional medical support.
The 5-day Community Health Camp will start on the 6th and end on the 10th July 2026 in Anaka - Nwoya district, Uganda.
Some of the free health services during the medical camp include:
-Medical consultations,
-Cervical and breast cancer screening,
-HIV testing and counseling,
- Family planning,
- Malaria testing and treatment, -Screening for diabetes and high blood pressure,
- Eye screening,
- Health education and more.

CDF Appoints New Deputy Commander of the UPDF Land Forces

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations (SPA/SO) General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has promoted Brigadier General Joseph Musoke Ssemwanga to the rank of Major General and appointed him the Deputy Commander of the UPDF Land Forces. The appointment took effect in December 2025 after Major General Takirwa fell ill.

Major General Ssemwanga replaces Major General Francis Takirwa (RIP) who passed away this morning after illness. He was until recently the Contingent Commander of UPDF troops serving under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). Before his deployment to Somalia towards the end of 2024, Major General Ssemwanga served as the 1st Infantry Division Commander with headquarters at Kakiri, Wakiso District.

Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi (FDC) has disconnected electricity from a village in his constituency after suffering a heavy defeat in the recent elections.

Nsibambi says the electricity was connected using his own money. He adds that voters should learn to appreciate the efforts made by their leaders.

He has also warned residents to stop criticizing him, threatening to burn the transformer, which he claims he also purchased with his personal funds.
