“I already messed up today.”
I used to say that to myself all the time.
I’d eat the cookie.
Or have the ice cream.
And immediately my brain would go to:
“Well… I guess today is ruined.”
So instead of just enjoying the treat and moving on…
I’d spiral.
“I’ll start over Monday.”
“I need to be stricter.”
“I need more discipline.”
And that cycle kept repeating for years.
I was STUCK in the "all or nothing mindset"
It took me years to repair my relationship with food and honestly my mindset, but the biggest change happened when I realized
I didn't have to remove treats to see progress
I just had to stick to a plan that included them
Because life with no sweet treats isn't a life I want to be apart of
You SHOULD enjoy a sweet treat
You SHOULD get to go on date night
And YOU SHOULDN'T feel bad about it
The reality is that life isn't perfect.
