The College of Science and Mathematics (COSM) at Georgia Southern University, with campuses in Statesboro, Savannah, and Hinesville, is dedicated to excellence in research, teaching, and service. Our faculty use high-impact, inclusive teaching to engage students and provide cutting-edge research opportunities. COSM prepares graduates to apply science in education, health, environmental protection, and economic growth. Programs are offered through the Departments of Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Geosciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics and Astronomy, as well as the Institute for Coastal Plain Science. Facilities include advanced labs, greenhouses, herbaria, and research collections in Herpetology, Entomology, and Botany. The COSM Core Research Laboratory enhances our capabilities, and the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department offers an ACS-certified chemistry degree.
