A few final maths exam tips for Leaving Cert students at home this week 👇
At this stage, students do NOT need to be learning brand new topics. The biggest gains now come from practicing questions and tightening up weak spots.
A few things I’d recommend:
1. Start on a Section A question. Pick an easy one. Don’t read the whole exam. It can overwhelm you.
2. section B is where most people lose marks. Be concise
3. the night before exams DO MATHS questions, don’t read notes. Get into maths mode after your English exam.
4. write out a list of all the FORMULAE not in your logbook onto a flash card. Let that be the last thing you look at the morning of the exam. I've actually made a big list of all these so comment if you'd like me to send it on.
5. don’t learn everything between now and exams, just learn topic by topic. When revising, get DOING, never reading.
6. should you learn the theorems constructions and proofs? Yes for a H1…. No, for a H6. Instead concentrate on the basic core topics.
Big Paper 1 topics:
Algebra, functions, differentiation, complex numbers
Big Paper 2 topics:
Statistics, probability, trigonometry, line & circle
And one final reminder for students:
95% of students get the bonus points in Higher Level maths. Only around 1% fail.
The exams are meant to feel challenging. They're exams after all.

FINALLY!!!!!! 🙌
The Leaving Cert results date has finally been confirmed:
Friday 21st August 2026
Results will be available online from 10am through the SEC portal and also through schools.
Still no confirmed Junior Cert results date yet though…
My best guess would be the first week of October.
Best of luck to everyone starting exams next week, now you have one less worry off your plate

3 years ago I made an account on a whim. I didn’t have a clue about TikTok.
