I got my judo green belt! Huge thanks Sensei Soren Ogden and Kensei Judo in San Jose, CA for giving me my belt test today. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna get yellow or green, but ended up with this one!

This was definitely one of the hardest martial arts tests I’ve had to do, and I’ll be putting out a full video of the entire process of training and the actual test itself. My brain is friend from the amount of throws, pins, submissions, and Japanese I had to learn 😂

I’m super happy to have gotten my green belt from Soren, and I’m sure you guys will understand why if you’ve seen all the videos I’ve done with him.

Lots of people to thank here, but I’ll keep this post short… you know who you are 🙏🏻

I initially created the channel membership a long time ago but realized it took too much effort, AND if I made a good video, I just wanted to share it with everyone the normal way lol and not behind a paywall. That said, I am thinking about posting things that didn't make the final cut to the memberships page going forward, and maybe even for older videos, so that y'all who wanna support the channel a little extra get something that's not available publicly.

We’re back! After several months off training due to injury, I’m back to training, and me and Cleve even went to the beach on Saturday to wrestle strangers for $100 😉

Taking everyone’s advice on my injury video on my second channel (previous post before this one if you wanna see it), and toning down the intensity this year. Gonna compete less, pay more attention to nutrition and weight lifting, and take time off for recovery when I need it. That’s the only way to keep training and making videos.

“Take me down for $100” is coming out next weekend! Stay tuned.

Coming out tomorrow is probably one of the most fun videos I've ever had the pleasure of making, and it wouldn't have been possible without the help of everyone involved! 9am PST/12pm EST

I've always had this idea to simulate prison fights, mostly to demystify what actually goes on in there, but I knew I couldn't do it without actually asking someone who knows what they're talking about... and that's why my friend Cleve (who was in a previous video about jiu jitsu in street fights, you might remember him) linked me up with one of his MMA coaches Angelo Henry, a former prisoner who's done time in both county jail and prison, and was able to act as the expert consultant both for a loooong interview before filming, and on set as well (he even fought in a couple of the scenes).

Everything in the video was meant to simulate reality as closely as possible... everything from the uniforms, to the weapons choices, and even the dimensions of the cell we used. We carefully designed 3 of the most common fight scenarios and ran my friend Soren (a judo black belt) through them twice, each with a surprise twice. The scenarios were:
1. A "removal" inside his cell (in this case, 2 attackers come at him with weapons)
2. A brawl
3. A head up fade (1v1 fight for respect)

I learned a lot more about self defense, and especially prison, from making this, and I hope you guys like it.
