Yuki Kajiura just posted a photo on her X/Twitter account with all five of her vocalists and announced that they were recording a new song for FictionJunction. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next year to hear it. She also included the #YKL23 hashtag, which pretty much confirms next year's tour—and that EMIKO will be part of it as well. Looks like there's a lot to look forward to in the future.

Quick updates!
Kajiura will participate in two international events this year. The first one, happening this May, is Anime Central in Chicago, United States. The attendance of KAORI, YURIKO KAIDA, Joelle, and LINO LEIA has already been confirmed.

After that, Kajiura will also take part in AnimagiC 2026, performing two special concerts followed by autograph sessions. The same vocalists mentioned above have also been confirmed for this event, which will take place in Mannheim, Germany.

So far, EMIKO has not been announced for either of these events. Apparently, she will be busy with her musical theater performances. However, she has been confirmed for the Shibuya LOVEZ OPENING SERIES HIGHWAY STAR PARTY 2026 -meets LOVE"Z"-, happening in July alongside the other Divas and Kajiura.

Recently, Kajiura’s official team account announced that she will be participating in the event HIGHWAY STAR PARTY 2026 -meets LOVE“Z”, scheduled for the end of July. This date falls almost right in the middle of the Vol. #22 tour schedule.
The lineup of performers who will accompany Kajiura at this event has not been announced yet, but we can speculate that it may include the regular vocalists who will be part of the tour.
If more details are revealed, I’ll be sure to post an update!

It was confirmed in recent days that Yuki Kajiura will be participating as one of the composers for the new anime adaptation of the famous CLAMP manga, Magic Knight Rayearth.
In the recently released trailer, we can hear a track in Kajiurago featuring Joelle on vocals. In the second half, there’s another Kajiurago piece, but I’m not entirely sure who the vocalist is—it could be Joelle again, or possibly REMI, who hasn’t collaborated with Kajiura in quite some time.
The anime is scheduled to be released in the second half of the year, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that FictionJunction will have a song featured in the soundtrack!

Kajiura took part in NHK’s program Tiny Desk Concerts JAPAN, where, in a small space inside the broadcaster’s office, they performed some of her hits. Some members of the FBM were present along with the regular vocalists—KAORI, YURIKO KAIDA, Joelle, LINO LEIA, EMIKO, and YUUKA—and there was also a special appearance by LiSA! The program airs on March 30!

Setlist:
Homura
Akatsuki no Kuruma

Fion is a pseudonym that composer Yuki Kajiura used when she was credited as a vocalist on some songs. Then, around 2010, Kajiura confirmed that the account on what was then known as Twitter, with the username Fion, belonged to her. Fion has participated as a vocalist on some tracks over the years, but she mainly works as a background chorus in soundtracks and FictionJunction songs.

I tried to post a compilation video with several instances where Fion appears as a vocalist, but YouTube blocked all my attempts, which is a shame. Still, if I may recommend it, listen to “Saints” or “The Place of Eternity", so, did you already know who Fion was?

Kajiura said in a recent interview, right after the end of Vol.21, that from now on she would like to do ten more live performances. Considering that it’s one per year, that would give us ten years ahead, which feels like very little to me as a fan, but I understand given Kajiura’s age. She also stated that in Vol.22 she would go back to the basics, and since the tour title is “precious pieces,” I imagine that well-established songs will be part of the setlist. Still, considering these ten years ahead, which songs would you like to see at YKL? In my case, they would be:

. Hikari no Yukue

.Toki no Sabaku

. Everlasting Song

. Parallel Hearts

. Gin no Hashi

. Synchronicity

. Himitsu

. Vanity

. Gaika

. Hoshikuzu

. Michiyuki

. Storytelling

. Storm

These are just the ones I managed to remember off the top of my head while typing this. I’d love to see songs that have been out of the setlists for a long time, or that have never received a live version.

Rie Akagi is an incredible flutist. Her always-cheerful energy adds so much to Yuki Kajiura’s live performances, and it’s clear how much Kajiura herself loves Ms. Akagi’s work. This year, Akagi faced some health issues, and in the Vol. #21 performance video you can notice how her mobility was affected. She even had to cancel her participation in the special Christmas dinner hosted by Kajiura. However, more recently on her Twitter/X, Akagi shared that she underwent surgery to correct the difference between her left and right legs, which had been causing her a lot of pain. So let’s wish Ms. Akagi a smooth and full recovery, and hope she regains the energy to bring back her legendary little dances during next year’s Yuki Kajiura Live.

Let’s celebrate! Great news in the Kajiura universe: EMIKO has been confirmed as a regular vocalist on the next tour, no longer just a guest singer. This one’s for YUUKA — and honestly, I wasn’t that happy about that part, since I’m not a big fan of YUUKA’s voice. I generally prefer other singers performing her songs. But let’s focus on the good news: EMIKO’s presence brought a new dynamic and really boosted the energy of Yuki Kajiura Live. The tour for next year has been confirmed for the second half of the year and will be titled “Precious Pieces.” Here’s the link to a compilation of EMIKO’s live performances from Vol. #21.
