From The Steak and Ale restaurant across from Hampton Coliseum to decades of restless musical exploration, Bruce sits down with Broken Record to talk about the journey, the songs, and the search that keeps moving. Watch the full conversation now.
Born as “U (Man Like)” following the Absolute Zero sessions at Justin Vernon’s April Base studios, Bon Iver has issued a live reading of the newly retitled "Man Like U” on their first live collection titled VOLUMES: ONE out now.

As this record gets set to be released, we are at work rehearsing out in Reseda (home of the girl who’s “crazy ‘bout Elvis”), trying to learn these new songs, which so far seem to hold great promise as vehicles for stirring live performance. Our aim is to make them soar like they seem to on the record, to find that intangible, ineffable feeling that can be so hard to attain, but so satisfying if one can get there. We hope to see you on the road (especially JT, who for 36 years now has established himself as the ever-approachable “social captain” of our crew); we’re playing so many concerts that we must be coming at least fairly close to most of you in our USA.
Bruce has added a few new clips to his Spotify Countdown Page, offering an early look at “Memory Palace,” the next single from Indigo Park. Check them out in the Spotify mobile app and pre-save the album ahead of Friday’s release here: open.spotify.com/prerelease/5K67zTyqNIMjfE84oqlhc6…

When my wife Kathy and I were AAU basketball parents in the early aughts, we loved the chants our fellow parents had created for the games. There were two: one was “You fouled, you did it, raise your hand, admit it,” and the other was “That’s right, you walked, you traveled and got caught.” We loved chanting these with the other parents, and at the time I told myself I wanted to write a song sometime with those chants. “Ecstatic” is that song, punctuated by my great old big sister in music, Bonnie Raitt, and the amazing LSU Lady Tigers basketball team, courtesy of Hall of Fame coach Kim Mulkey as another special aspect.
