I’ve decided to post pone my arc raiders follow up video. Even though I have amazing footage to share, I need to find out for myself if friendly lobbies with both PvE and PvP is truly possible. Because so far all my matches have been filled with toxic players, but then randomly 1 out of 20 chance I’ll get nice players. I can go from having great fun in the game by friendly pvping players or the worst time possible with no mics/teamers getting a thrill attacking me while I fight arc. I’ve had so many friendly duels that I’ve been placed into matches with players who are beyond cod lobby toxic. Arc Raiders is at its best as a social game where people either work together, fight for fun, or mess around with creative ideas. The loot simulator aspect was fun for 2 months but it got stale for me to do in a multiplayer game which is why I started friendly duels. Among the fact trusting people got really difficult since I’ve been backstabbed more times in the past week than my first 100 hours. My new playstyle really backfired on my ability to have fun and am thinking of a way to change my playstyle up again. It’s been hard to because of all the mixed experiences I’ve had on it. Every match is either vastly different or extremely repetitive. One game I can have a pickaxe tournament or encourage a lobby to have fun trying to fight me, and the next I’ll get insta knocked by a bobcat from medium range or be called a rat for no reason just to die to people teaming in solos. I also hate the whole “rat” term because people just spam saying that all the time, even when it’s not appropriate to the situation. It is very possible Arc Raiders has an imbalance of its types of players which I believe it does. I would be fine if Arc Raiders became like Tarkov if it was actually intended to be like it, but it’s not. Arc are way too strong, but maybe they should only be weaker in heavier PvP lobbies? That is something that could be explored possibly. This game still needs a lot of work, there should be a matchmaking change that goes beyond a scale system, maybe gear based? I’m not entirely sure. Something that creates an experience where fear remains a huge factor, each match invites a challenge, you expect the unexpected, have moments with people, and don’t lose the urge to play due to losing items. I’ve spent so much time getting enough material or money to acquire items for getting a challenge or project done, just to lose it all in less than 3 minutes. Starting at square one after hours of time wasted just for me to lose it all again. Progressing takes forever and the time limit to progress is way too short. My first 200 hours of Arc Raiders was a blast, I love the gameplay and environment, I love the experiences I’ve had on the game, I am happy I got to experience it in multiple facets. But this 100k damage goal for expedition has absolutely ruined me over the last few days and even though I had 1 or 3 good moments during my attempt to complete it, most of my time was sufferable. I have no idea if this will even be read, I think I just made a separate essay from what I was originally going to make before and I feel like I’ve just played Arc Raiders enough at this point.
I’m going to make a follow up to my arc raiders video essay before I move onto the next game I discuss because I just had some legendary gaming moments on the game and it merges both PvP and PvE together. I’ve finally found a really fun way to play the game and keep it engaging.
Arc Raiders video is finally done. It’s a 17 min live commentary, my first attempt at a non scripted video essay! After you’ve watched it, let me know if you want this format again or prefer the higher effort with constant change of footage videos.
I will be making a video on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a video I’ve been wanting to make for a long time and now I finally can. I’ve already began working on the script.
