I’m incredibly proud to announce that Stolen Ground: The Tygerberg Raceway Story has officially been selected for the International Cultural Journal Film Festival 2026 in Ukraine. 🇺🇦

Out of more than 2,500 submissions from filmmakers around the world, the ICJ jury selected Stolen Ground to be part of its opening programme. The documentary will not only be screened at the festival and featured at the red carpet event at Uzhhorod Castle, but will also travel across Ukraine through the “Cinema in Schools” initiative, reaching 100 schools, including communities near the frontlines.

One of the greatest honours has been being featured on the cover of the International Cultural Journal magazine, alongside an in-depth interview discussing both the documentary and the broader issue of property rights in South Africa. It means a lot to see this story reaching audiences far beyond our borders.

A massive thank you to the ICJ Film Festival, the International Cultural Journal team, and everyone involved for believing in this project and helping bring attention to such an important issue.

From a zero-budget South African documentary to international recognition in Ukraine… truly humbled and grateful.
