What form did David Olney (1948-2020) take before his untimely passing at the 30A Songwriter Festival in Santa Rosa Beach, FL in January 2020? “Americana Pioneer” singer-songwriter/poet, stream-caster and actor DAVID OLNEY released iconic music for more than five decades and was known worldwide for his indelible songs and powerful live performances. David Olney hosted a weekly “You Never Know” Songwriter Series video streamcast for more than 10 years on his YouTube channel, where he performed a song and shared the story behind it. His music continues to expand our universe.

"The quality of [Pieter] Groeneveld’s production is so sharp you’d be forgiven for not realising that this is actually a ‘Live Recording’ and the lack of applause makes this even more of a ‘keeper' as usually with live albums the stories between tracks can quickly become boring; although [David] Olney’s stories are/were actually fabulous … but you get my point?

“Two Bit Hood; a modernish tale not too far away from the Bonnie and Clyde story as if written by Tom Waits; and here David brings it up to date with two unnamed characters living outside the law; a low-rent girl and the Two Bit Hood himself ….. and in my humble opinion one of the finest works he's ever produced; making it my Favourite Song on a rather exceptional album."
