For the last weeks I’ve been thinking a lot about color, imagination, artistic freedom… and why I suddenly became obsessed with Chagall.
This Friday evening instead of my usual Sunday upload, I’ll finally share the video I’ve been working on:
What Chagall Taught Me About Freedom
It became less of a video about Chagall and more about understanding something important about my own painting.
I think this might be one of my most personal art videos so far.

I’ve been busy taking care of my health and in between I dived deeper into Chagall’s world - trying to paint a detail of his work with my own style and colors. It will be part of my video about unleashing my imagination after understanding Chagall better. I’m still in the process so stay tuned 😊🎨

Usually, this would be the time for a new long video.
But instead of rushing one, I’ve been slowly going deeper into something that genuinely feels like a new direction for me artistically.
Lately I’ve been revisiting Chagall — not only his colors, but the freedom, imagination and emotional logic in his paintings. And it’s starting to affect my own work in unexpected ways.
I even went back to an older watercolor painting that felt too controlled to me… and began adding more playful and fantasy-like elements into it.
I think the next weeks will be less about polished conclusions and more about exploration: small experiments, sketches, color studies, strange ideas, maybe becoming a little less afraid of imagination in my paintings.
So instead of disappearing until the next long video, I’ll probably share parts of that process here and in Shorts while I continue working on the Chagall video.

I’m curious where this leads. Maybe some of you will enjoy following that journey with me too.

My new video is now live.
It is about Brno, my hometown — but really, it is about distance, return, and seeing an old place differently after something inside you has changed.
I always wanted to leave Brno.So why am I painting it now?
In the video, I share the story behind several new Brno paintings, including historical streets, forest scenes, a sketch, and a new naive-style park painting.

I finished a new video about Brno — but it is not really a city guide.
It is more about what changed between me and my hometown.
For most of my life, I wanted to leave Brno. It felt too familiar, too connected with an older version of my life. But after living abroad, especially in California, and coming back, I started seeing it differently.
And now I’m painting it.
The video includes several Brno paintings, a sketch, forest scenes near my home, and a new naive-style painting of people in a park.

Sometimes you discover an artist at exactly the right moment.
I knew the name Henri Matisse for years, but I never really connected with his work. Recently I started looking more closely at his colors—and something unexpected happened.
I tried painting with his color palettes during my daily art practice… and it felt strangely familiar.
Like recognizing something I had already been searching for in my own work.
