Hey sweet Girl, I’m Jessica Renee
I’m an over 43 stylist, boutique owner, and brand builder who guides and lead women to rediscovering their identity, relaunching with purpose, and building businesses without losing themselves, their family or their faith.
This is your space to become H.E.R—with strategy, story, and spiritual growth. Whether you're pivoting into a new season, starting a boutique, navigating as a stylist, growing your social media, or rebuilding your brand or business, you're in the right place.
Let’s walk this journey together.
Jessica Renee & Co | H.E.R. Beauty Co™️
There was a season where I didn’t even recognize myself. I was doing all the things, for everybody.
Running the business, managing the house, raising kids, being a wife, showing up for my community , and somewhere in the middle of all of that, I lost track of me. Not dramatically. Not all at once. Just… gradually. The way you lose something when you’re not paying attention.
And I think that’s what nobody warns you about when you step into this mompreneur life. Nobody tells you that the very gifts that make you great at serving everyone else, the sacrifice, the loyalty, the showing up , can be the same things that cause you to disappear from your own life if you’re not careful.
But here’s what I’ve learned: she didn’t leave. That woman, the one who had dreams before the titles, who had an identity before the roles, she didn’t go anywhere. She’s just been waiting for you to slow down long enough to find her again.
I stopped chasing balance a long time ago. Balance felt like a lie honestly. What I found instead was prioritizing the season I was in.
When my family needs me, I lean in there. When my business needs me, I lean in there. And I’m still learning , actively still learning, how to lean into myself when I need me. That part takes the most work. That part requires the most intentionality.
So if nobody has told you today: you don’t have to perform. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to carry it all at once. You are a strategist, not a superhero. And the most strategic thing you can do right now is remember who you are beneath all the roles.
You are still H.E.R.
NOW ACT LIKE IT!
Save this if you needed to hear it. Share it with a mompreneur who does.

Let me say this one time and one time only.
I am TIRED of hairstylists being used as clickbait. Every week there’s a new post dragging our prices, grouping all of us into one category because of a few bad experiences with stylist, many of which, let’s be honest, you repeated more than once.
Here’s what nobody wants to say:
Every industry has people who overcharge and underdeliver. You’ve bought shoes that fell apart. Clothes that weren’t worth the tag. But hair, We’re the easy target.
The stylists who were unprofessional and underdelivered, don’t represent this industry. And some days, we may just have off days.
The prices you’re seeing, they reflect real costs: education, products, tools, overhead , that have more than doubled since the days of $25 roller sets. We are not going back.
Every stylist isn’t for you, every experience isn’t the same as someone else’s, and every stylist isn’t experienced and fully licensed.
And if your stylist raises your prices and it’s no longer in your budget, you are free to find someone else who is. There are no hard feelings. I promise it is ok.
Yes, some of us take vacations. Have nice things. Built a life from this profession. And that should be celebrated, not weaponized.
Again, If the price isn’t in your budget, that is completely okay. Find what works for you. But the internet doesn’t need your opinion on what hairstylists charge when you keep selecting the wrong ones and calling it an industry problem.
Take accountability. Do your research. Vet your stylist.
We’ll be here, building businesses, serving our clients, and living well, whether you’re watching or not.

7-8 years ago, but the style is still relevant and so is the stylist.
These photos are a reminder of what consistency and intentionality build over time. Back in 2017 I made a decision to stop just doing hair and start treating this like the business it is — focusing on my craft, my service, and the experience I was giving every single client who sat in my chair.
That foundation is the reason I could walk away for four years, come back with zero clients on my books, and rebuild a full clientele. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of what you put in long before anyone’s watching.
If you’re in the building phase right now — keep going. What you’re creating today is what you’ll stand on later.

Cheers to 44 & more. 🥂✨
This year is so significant to me, not because it’s 30, 45, or 50. Not because the world says it should be. But because this is the first year in six years that I have felt my absolute best — mentally, physically, and spiritually.
If you only knew what was behind this smile.
The things I’ve endured. The suffering. The seasons of darkness. Beating the odds of depression and choosing, every single day — to still show up.
I am so grateful to God for allowing me to reach another number. Grateful to be whole. Grateful to still be here.
And this 44, is my year of MORE.
Not more things. Not more stuff. But more grace for myself. More love. More peace. More joy. More alignment. More of God. Growing deeper in the areas that truly matter.
I have stepped fully into who I am and I have owned it.
So today I’m celebrating that I made it through. I’m celebrating that God never left me. I’m celebrating the molding, the refining, the shaping. Because it produced this version of me, and she is something special.
I am so excited to walk into my more.
It’s my birthday and I’m OUTSIDE! And if you feel led to sow a seed or bless into anything I have going on, my Cash App is $SheIsJessicaRenee — I receive it with a grateful heart. 🤍

Dear Hairstylist,
For years, we were taught that being “booked and busy” was the goal. That if your schedule wasn’t packed from open to close, you weren’t successful. That if you weren’t tired, overworked, and squeezing people in, you weren’t grinding hard enough.
And somewhere along the way… we let the chair become our whole identity.
We missed moments. All because we were afraid. Afraid that if we didn’t take the appointment, the money wouldn’t come back.
Afraid that if we said no, the client wouldn’t return. Afraid that if we slowed down, we’d fall behind.
But let me tell you something I had to learn the hard way… That’s scarcity mindset.
The chair is a tool. It was never meant to own you.
When your life revolves around the chair, you don’t have a life — you have a shift.
But when you make the chair fit into your life, that’s when you start living.
You have other gifts. Other ideas. Other businesses in you. You deserve vacations. You deserve peace. You deserve to be present.
Experiences don’t wait.
And here’s the part nobody tells you — you can always go back to the chair. But you can’t always go back to the moment you missed.
If this hit you, like this post.
Tell me which slide spoke to you the most.
And if you’re ready to reset how you operate as a stylist, comment RESET. Let’s build a career that fits your life — not the other way around.

Some of you have been here since Branded WC.
And if I’m completely honest, Branded was built in a season where I thought I had to curate what would sell, sustain, and keep up with trends.
And while there were beautiful moments,it was heavy.
Because I wasn’t fully showing up as me.
I was selling pieces that made sense for the market I wasn’t apart of, but not always pieces that felt like my life.
And over time, that disconnect weighs on you.
When Branded shut down, it was a major life changing blow and I had to grieve it.
I Grieved the loss. Grieved and let go of the identity I was attached to and grieve the season I was walking out of.
But in that time away, God was speaking.
He was stripping away performance, fear I held on too, and striving.
While reminding me that alignment matters more than trends.
I’ve spent this time soul searching and Re-centering. Putting God back at the center of my business, not just in name, but in truth.
Sooo, I’m happy to say that I got out of my own way.
I finally pushed past fear.
I finally gave myself permission to show up authentically.
Branded was part of my journey.
But this season is elevated.
This season is aligned.
Welcome to @thelilyandivyhouse
This isn’t just a boutique. It’s a lifestyle. It’s authenticity at its finest.
For the chic, elevated Southern girl.
The one who loves wide-leg denim and soft linen. Who can walk the barn or meet up for brunch and still be polished.
Lily represents grace.
Ivy represents rooted growth.
And this house is built on both.
If you’ve been here , you’re still home.
If you’re new , come on in and follow while you at it.
I’m building something softer, chic, timeless, and elevated.
Welcome to The Lily & Ivy House. Stay tuned for more to come.

Dear Hairstylist,
Let’s stop acting confused about why some stylists grow faster than others.
It ain’t always talent, location, or even the experience.
It’s definitely visibility.
There may not be a scientific study titled “Stylists Who Post vs Stylists Who Don’t”, but after 23 years in this industry, I’ve watched the shift with my own eyes.
The stylist who shows up consistently
gets discovered more.
The stylist who gets discovered
gets trusted faster.
And the stylist who gets trusted
gets booked easier. Periodt!
Hair is visual. But not just the hair, but you need to be visual, aks your brand.
So if your work isn’t being seen or the person behind the work, it’s not being considered.
I’m not telling you that you need to be dancing or keying up with the latest trends or even doing the most.
It’s about POSITIONING.
Two stylists can be equally skilled but
the one who shows up will outgrow the one who stays silent.
Social media doesn’t replace skill or the work, it amplifies it.
And if you’ve been relying on word of mouth alone, this is your sign to let your work be seen.
I’m just trying to help my fellow Stylist Besties R.E.S.E.T.

Dear hairstylist,
Every change you make in your business does not require a public announcement.
Policies are not content.
Boundaries are not debates.
And price increases are not group discussions.
Your website is for structure.
Your email list is for communication.
Your clients deserve clarity, not explanations to people who don’t sit in your chair.
Big businesses don’t announce every shift. They update, communicate where it matters, and keep moving and so can you.
Operate like the professional you are becoming, not like you need permission to evolve.
Less explaining.
More authority.
That’s how aligned clientele is built.
— Your Stylist R.E.S.E.T. bestie

23 years. 🫶🏾
That still feels wild to say out loud.
January marks 23 years as a licensed cosmetologist, and when I look back, I don’t just see hairstyles or clients… I see seasons, growth, and stretching.
I see moments where I was exhausted but still showed up. Moments where I loved this industry deeply and moments where I had to step back and rediscover myself inside of it.
This journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it.
Cosmetology gave me more than a career. It gave me purpose, confidence, discipline, community, and a front-row seat to women becoming new versions of themselves.
It also taught me hard lessons about burnout, boundaries, identity, and what success really looks like.
And the biggest lesson, longevity doesn’t come from hustle. It comes from alignment.
I’m grateful to still be here. Still licensed. Still passionate. Still making an impact, just with more intention, wisdom, and peace than I had 20 years ago.
Here’s to 23 years of growth…
and to the next chapter of serving, teaching, and building legacy in this industry.
If you’ve been in this game for a while, this one’s for you.
And if you’re just starting, know that there is a way to do this and still keep yourself whole.
Cheers to my Jordan year where championships will be won.
